i usually start feeling kind of down around christmas and my birthday for some reason i think its just bc its 1) christmas, four days later 2) my birthday, two days later 3) new years, so its just so fast that sometimes i feel overwhelmed. 

im also feeling bad bc some friends ive been trying to hit up and text who never text me back were all together one night and the friend didnt even tell me she was in town and we’ve been close since sophomore year so that stung pretty hard and made me feel super lonely and wonder about who actually cares about me friendship wise lmao

          she’s been over to bunny’s apartment once,  but it was enough for her to strap a tool belt to her waist on knock on her door again.  it’s not super early,  but maybe earlier then she should have come  --  bunny looks a little bit of a mess,  tired and a little grumpy,  and georgie can feel the regret almost instantly.  but bunny looks her over,  makes a quip about a strip tease with the tools,  and lets her in.  

          while bunny crashes back on the couch,  georgie busies herself with fixing the appliances that she’s made note of before.  there’s another comment about how they’ll break later,  but she doesn’t take it to heart  --  she wants to help out,  more so now with how tired bunny looks.  (  the apartment could use some other things,  like flowers,  the windows opened a little more,  but she didn’t want to be too invasive.  just helpful.  ) 

          it’s about two hours later when she finishes everything.  bunny is still on the couch,  but asleep now  --  probably for the better.  georgie takes a seat down beside her and looks at her for a long moment,  something like concern twisting in her chest.  a thought crosses her mind,  but she pushes it away  --  but it comes right back again.  she’s not the bold.  is she that bold?  

          bunny has made enough flirty comments that  --  maybe she wouldn’t mind.  oh,  georgie didn’t know  --  but she wanted to.  leaning towards her,  she gives her a soft kiss at her jawline.  bunny doesn’t move,  and maybe that makes her bold enough to lean forward and kiss her eyelid.  this time,  she does move,  and georgie jumps up so quick it makes her dizzy  --  the tools crash to the floor,  and she scrambles to pick them up.

          she’s with the rest of her siblings here at this school.  something her dad is interested in for one reason or other;  mutant business,  bonding ties,  all that.  she’s learned not to question too many things when it comes to business,  only to listen and go where she’s needed  --  that’s what made her dad happy,  and she wanted to desperately to do so,  to follow in his footsteps.  

          still,  it’s a little overwhelming being here.  but her brothers make friends fast and she follows,  and a few days later they’ve already dragged her into a game of beer pong with some of the other adults around their age.  (  she has no concept of how long you’re allowed to stay here;  it seemed like a half and half of young adults and actually kids,  but from what she gathered,  many of them didn’t have a strong family system like she did.  )  

          but it wasn’t time to think about that  --  she was about four shots in and her head was a little fuzzy,  her demeanor a little more loose then usual.  she has to crash on the couch,  putting her face into the couch.  another body hits the cushion in a similar way,  and she looks up,  recognizes the other woman from earlier.  they had talked,  briefly  --  sober  --  and ended up being beer pong partners,  laughing and shoving into one another.  

          “  you’re really cute.  “  maria says,  cheeks hot.  she would never act like this,  never do this,  but it had been an honest sober thought when they first met.  “  can i give you a kiss?  “  she only has a brief thought of rejection,  but it doesn’t come.  josephine looks around,  making sure no one is paying attention  --  it doesn’t hurt her feelings,  because she doesn’t want the attention either.  

               “i’m going to be honest and you can laugh at me if you want—…” she can’t fight back the smile on her features as she shakes her head. “this is the first time i’ve ever been to a city this big, you know? i’ve already gotten lost like ten times—…totally bogus,” // @fazyluny
