a knock interrupted nelson’s best making. he took off his headphones and looked to the door. “come in!”

matt opened the door with a yawn. “i thought you were going to bed early tonight.”

“i am.”

“it’s 3:30 in the morning, grizz.”

nelson looked at his clock and sure enough, 3:30 AM looked back at him. “oh. well, shit.”

“come to bed, please? your sleep schedule doesn’t need to be any more fucked than it is.”

“alright, alright, i’ll stop here.” nelson saved what he had and got up, stretching. “holy shit, i am tired.”

“uh huh. that’s what happens when you stay up way past your bedtime. come on, big guy. you got a whole bed waiting for you.”

nelson smiled and rolled his eyes. “i sure hope so. i know i ain’t sleeping on the couch.”

“well, i could always lock the door. then you’d have to.”

“you forget my strength.”

“oh, yeah. actually, i’ll sleep on the couch tonight.”

nelson laughed as he finally stepped into the bedroom. “im not gonna do anything to you, you know that.”

matt smiled sleepily at him. “i know. goodnight.”

“mcnasty, can you please shut the fuck up?” dallas asked from his bunk.

mcnasty was currently playing guitar in his own bunk, singing lyrics from a song he was making up on the spot. this would’ve been fine if it weren’t for the fact that it was 2am and they were all trying to sleep.

mcnastys response was to play the guitar and sing a little louder for a few moments before returning to the previous volume.

“im gonna kick your fucking ass,” dallas threatened.

“no fighting,” dooo called from his bunk sleepily. “we don’t need to have to pull the bus over due to you two doing something dumb.”

“listen, he’s the one playing guitar when we have shit to do in like, 5 hours. if anything it’s his fault.”

“how about you fuckin’ suck on my back acne, dallas?” mcnasty finally retorted, stopping his playing altogether.

“enough. shut the hell up, both of you. i’ll kick you off this dang bus myself.” dooo yawned.

“you heard him, mcnasty.”

“you too, dallas. hush.”

“you can’t be serious.”

“you heard him, dallas,” mcnasty mocked.

- this is all platonic but they still manage to make gay shit happen anyways

- exhibit a: mcnasty manages to get dooo to go on the tunnel of love w him and claims they made out/fucked during the ride

- exhibit b: soup and matt hold hands trying to get funnel cake and pretend to be a couple as a bit. they absolutely cannot hold their giggles back as they call each other babe

- at any ride they come up to they all look at dooo and go “aw sorry buddy you’re too short for the ride”. dooo is Furious but he can’t do shit abt it

- soup is the best at the minigames where u have to aim shit. he wins a few times and gives out some of the stuffed animals to his friends (he doesn’t win anything huge but they don’t care)

- dooo desperately tried to win one of the minigames on his own and soup ended up winning on his first try. he was Not Happy but took the winning stuffed animal anyways

it started with their taste in music.

matt had his headphones in, blasting a little too loud on the bus when he felt a tap on his shoulder. he turned, and the kid next to him motioned for him to take his headphones out. he did.

maybe having a roommate who partied constantly was a bad idea, in hindsight.

dallas didn’t think it was terrible at first; he never held parties where they lived, he always kept it to himself, tidied up after himself and wasn’t obnoxious about it.

and it’s not like his roommate was in constant danger, either. the man was 6’7 and looked intimidating from the second you saw him. he could definitely take care of himself.

the problem was when he wouldn’t show up in the morning after the party. usually dallas caught him on the couch, snoring loudly with a glass of water already on the side table for when he woke up. but as of recently, he had been staying out later and later, and after not showing up for 2 days before coming home dallas made a new rule.

“just, call me to let me know you’re alright. you don’t gotta call like every hour, just when you think about it. and tell me if you’re staying over. that way i don’t accidentally call the police when you don’t show up.”

“god, you’re like my mom or something,” eric scoffed.

“im serious dude. i don’t want police knocking at my door because your dumbass got yourself killed.”

“fine, i’ll try to remember to call you.”

“thank you.”

the next party eric went to, dallas kept his phone by his side to make sure he didn’t miss any calls. right before he went to bed, he heard it ringing, and he sighed with relief when he saw eric’s name on his screen. “hey.”

he could hear lots of loud music and talking in the background. “dallas!” eric sounded plastered, and dallas didn’t doubt that he was. “i remembered, are you happy?”

“yes, im very happy. you doing alright?”

“yeah!”

“are you staying the night there?”

“maaaaybe.” eric giggled. “you should come too!”

“i think i’ll pass, boss. thanks though.”

“awh, okaaaaay. i loooove you.”

dallas rolled his eyes. god, he really was gone. “alright, lay off the drinks for a bit, buddy. i’ll see you when you get home.”

im not sure if it’s a fic you want or an actual like list of hcs but im gonna do the list one and if u wanted a fic im so sorry (this was actually rly fun to do for some reason but anyways-)

- id like to think they all take turns singing/some songs have each person singing a different verse

- soup probably on drums bc he’s the only bitch who knows how to play them (i think)

- dooo on keyboard obv (and guitar/bass if need be)

- matt n mcnasty are both guitar boys

- matt def sings the least, only like. screaming as backup vocals probably

- rehearsals are awful sometimes only bc mcnasty keeps making up dumbass lyrics/riffs halfway through and they all threaten to kick him out of the band if he keeps it up (they never do)

- probably have at least one incident on a tour bus every god damn time they get one (ex: dooo probably accidentally destroys the bus toilet once after a bad case of taco bell and everyone refuses to use it for the rest of the tour)

- shows are NUTS. soup absolutely kills it with the energy he’s got and no one can even come close to matching it

- mcnasty and soup sometimes act as body guards bc they’re not afraid to deck a bitch who’s trying to do smthn they’re not supposed to
