Going to the mountains up north tomorrow, to Sonfjället. Three days out on the lookout for brown bears before they go into hibernation. And on the lookout for everything else alive or dead, or dying. Playing while packing: Blaak Heat Shujaa, Earthless & Conan. Like mountains, great stuff. Frack no.

Wolf. Reading “Den enögde vargjägaren från Vilhelminafjällen” (The one-eyed wolfhunter from Vilhelmina) written by Christer Westerdahl about Enocksson, the famous swedish wolfhunter. Excerpts from his diaries from early twentieth century reveals the secret life of wolves, as hunted and hated in poverty-stricken scandinavia. One may disagree with hunting, but few knows the animal better than hunter. Interesting read. I´ve heard, and once seen, wolves but nothing beats this recording I made a couple of years ago sitting next to a small lake (see picture) surrounded by at least six wolves howling. Fascinating. Turn off the lights, turn up the sound.

Last days of september. Black coffee, open window, Windhand´s Grief´s Infernal Flower on loud, it is thick and slow. Also, absolutely love these bird silhouettes in the sky, excitement and wonder.

As elegant as Ellington Suites, as endangered, tread carefully.

Striving oaks. LIstening to Hawkwind, live at Hammersmith -82. “Death to death and death to time.” Yet the rain keeps pouring down, and this is autumn. Plan: go north on the look out for brown bears at Sonfjäll early october, also, meditate on the term pre-loss.
