#as a sped teacher I get kids saying “I know this is a stupid question but..’’ all the time and I always feel so guilty #no. ask me a million stupid questions. sure it’s annoying to say the same thing over and over #but I’d rather you ask than to assume the wrong thing.#I asked my resource English class to write a narrative story that is set at a haunted house.#one of my students wrote an informational picture book about Halloween.#I felt really bad but she had to redo it because I can’t grade that on a narrative writing rubric... she’d fail because she’s #literally missing every part that I’m grading on...#she’s SLD and online and it’s not working. she’s done about 7 of 18 assignments this quarter...

So I was finally Sarah Sanderson for Halloween and it was awesome.

I’ve been out all week and I just got an email from one of my students telling me that she missed me. Like random emails from my students make my heart soar. I miss my kiddos. 😭

I suffered for a week waiting on a covid test.#and then was diagnosed with strep today... I could have gotten an antibiotic and been back with my kids on Monday...#now I have to stay home tomorrow. Friday is a PD day. so I will finally see them next Monday. a week after I should have.

I’ve felt like garbage off and on for the last week or so. So I got tested yesterday, and the wait kind of really sucks…

Turned out it was 2-7 days. I just heard today. I was tested on Thursday and heard back the following Wednesday.... and then I waited at the walk in clinic for 2 hours in my car, 1.5 hours in the room, and then the provider would not listen to me and then we went back and forth on whether there was really a line on the strep test because that was the faintest pink line I’ve ever seen. Whatever though, I thought it might by laryngitis or bronchitis which both would have been treated with an antibiotic which I got so 🤷🏼‍♀️

As if this whole year wasn’t frustrating enough. I get to listen to all these kids from extremely low income families bash Biden and say how awesome Trump is. Like DO YOU REALIZE THAT TRUMP WANTS TO TAKE AWAY YOUR MEDICAID AND THE WELFARE/FOODSTAMPS/WHATEVER THAT A LOT OF YOU BENEFIT FROM?

The district I teach in is one where >90% of kids qualify for free and reduced lunch. And so all kids get free breakfast and lunch at school and food to take home for breakfast and lunch on the weekends. These kids need liberal politicians and they don’t even know.

#one of my kids called Biden a pedophile the other day #and I sat there like uhhhh do you know trump’s history....?#the things he’s said and done?#including saying that if his daughter wasn’t his daughter he’d want to be with her?#like you wanna talk questionable pasts? let’s go.
