A beyondian partner means a lot of things. Not understanding human customs, for one. Especially one that’s only as old as the Great Collapse. It’s… It’s strange. She was born adult, but… Steven has to shake the thought off. He’s driving. Ame sitting beside him, Zed in the back. Zed always prefers the back, when it’s the three of them. Ame likes being in the front.
She’s messing with things. Fiddling with the buttons and dials on the dashboard.
“Ame. Don’t do that.” His voice is surprisingly gentle. Anyone else, he’d be chewing them out.
“We’ve been driving for hours, Steven.” She complains, but states it plainly. Like it’s supposed to be obvious. He rolls his eyes as he takes an exit.
He glances at her hands. The sharp nails, like claws. The webbing between her fingers. He thinks about it, sometimes. How she’s more amphibious, while Zed is almost completely aquatic. And he’s terrestrial. Or whatever the term is.
“What happened to you playing us music? Or those podcasts?”
“I’m not making you crash laughing at the stupid cannoli debate.” But she does lean back, picking up her phone to turn on the music again.
It took getting used to her hard music. A few classical and gentle songs, but a lot of it is… Angrier.

Firstly, Zapp is absolutely and utterly exhausted. He's been off for a week at a party with a deity and the other satyrs. Even BEFORE Dionysus took him, he was still kind of hurting from the blood awakening! He was never a completely 'religious' satyr, he didn't always believe in the whole "companion of a god" thing.
Now as for the rest of them, and dealing with it until he got back?
Klaus was already concerned. He hadn't expected the awakening to effectively cripple Zapp for half and hour. And he was completely blindsided by Dionysus. Unlike Zapp, he was always a believer in the Catholic faith. But... Thinking about it, he supposes he should have known there were other gods. Even without HLC, all the types of monsters said to be companions to gods... Anyway, he was blindsided. Completely unexpected, shocked to near silence. He only managed "Excuse me-" before Dionysus vanished with Zapp. He didn't really know what to expect, but it wasn't that. Nor what to do... They can't really go after a god right???
Steven expected it, but it still startled him. He was standing over Zapp when it happened, relaying information to Zed to send- somehow, he wasn't sure how he was doing it- to Raju. To find out if their old master knew anything. Then a god appeared right in front of him, turning his coffee to wine, and took Zapp off for a celebration. He took a sip of wine, sighed, and moved to his desk to start checking the Libra roster with Gilbert to find someone else with fire abilities to call in until Zapp's return.
Leo absolutely, 100%, did not expect it. It scared him so much he popped into wisp form without even thinking about it. He can still see the lingering deity... magic? Of Dionysus standing there. He can see the magic radiating off Steven's mug. Off all the drinks that were close. They're all wine now. And he's just... Dumbfounded. Were they supposed to expect that? Steven's pretty calm- was that supposed to happen???
Zed supposes he should have expected it. Raju had told him that satyrs were companions of a god. And that it was likely that he'd appear to take Zapp when his blood woke. It makes sense. His mind is already thinking about it as the magic fades and he starts relaying to Raju what just happened. He should have expected that to happen. Well... At least he has a week free of Zapp.
And for when Zapp returns...
Steven and Zed just sigh and go about business. Steven drops a few bottles of water next to him to drink. Zed just ignores him unless Zapp says something. But he's out cold... So hey. Extra time. Zed does pick up one of the bottles to read the label while Gilbert finds a place to put them.
Klaus gets him a blanket to cover his head from the light, in case satyrs can still get hungover. He keeps an eye from his desk.
Leo is very tempted to sit on him, just like Zapp's done to him... But decides not to. Zapp'd kill him. He knows that. So instead he just avoids him as best he can. Asks Zed to read the label when he's done.

Did Zapp meet Dionysus when he was little with other Satyrs? Do you think that Dionysus will be there when Zapp awakens his Satyr blood? Since the Satyr were close Companions with Dionysus and I think it would be kinda funny if Dionysus just showed up to Libra HQ to congratulate Zapp like "Hey! You finally awakened! congrats! :D" then give some really good wine for Zapp to share with the others and advice on how to deal with it then peace out ✌️ did I mention that I really love your Monster AU?

Zapp will get grabbed and yoinked off to go have the most raging party in his entire life. Zapp will just be GONE for a week. Suddenly reappearing fucking clonked out in the office with thirty bottles of ancient wine.
Satyrs being companions of Dionysus is actually part of why I picked satyr for Zapp, I wanted to play more into his partying and drinking for this au. Plus satyrs were really horny so... That part works too.
Bonus to this, it's going to be MUCH harder for Zapp to get drunk now. He'll be able to drink Klaus under the table.
THAT'S EVEN BETTER, I CAN JUST IMAGINE THE ABSOLUTE SHOCK THE OTHERS WOULD HAVE, ESPECIALLY WITH DIONYSUS TAKING ZAPP AWAY like at first they panic but they calm down a little because they know that the Satyr are very precious to Dionysus and will take good care of Zapp but it definitely doesn't eas their anxiety and worry, especially if Zapp has been gone for a week. They would definitely save the ancient wine for special occasions tho👀✨
It happens not too long after Calamity Auction too, so they're still kinda reeling and wary after those events. They get back from dealing with a blood breed and suddenly there's a god in the office. Who just grabs one of their members and vanishes with him for a week.
