genuinely impressed that the whole "i can't live without my phone" bit from episode 1 wasn't just some empty "damn kids and their cellphones" joke but that kourtney actually has anxiety and needs to know she can contact her mom or otherwise get comfort when she has an anxiety attack and that's why she couldn't handle being without her phone and was otherwise "high-maintenance"

as someone with anxiety who often uses my phone to contact someone or find sth to stop me from spiralling and who needs a lot of specific items and routines to feel comfortable and safe this was really real

I'm still stuck on the fact that Gomez Addams himself was self-conscious over his own parenting and in the same breath, he apologizes for being overly affectionate because he knows it makes Wednesday uncomfortable. He's such a good dad even when he's sorry about being a bad dad. Friction is expected in any family and you could feel the love there even as Wednesday and her parents were at odds. They were working so hard to be good parents and it showed. It showed in Addams Family Values when they pushed past their own unhappiness to give their "normal" son the kind of things that made him happy and it showed in Wednesday (2022) when they navigated the trials of reaching a daughter who felt trapped by their attempts to meet her. The Addamses remain absolute goals.
