[Straw Hats]

Charming

The large white mast billows slightly in the midday sun. Clouds briefly bring taupe shadows over the polished wooden deck. Luffy is perched watching the horizon. As the wind blows his hat, Amael watches as he braces (..human..) it with a hand.

The whip-staff feels sturdy as she drapes her arm, relishing the peace drifting in the air. Sea mist reaches her clinging to her skin, cooling. Amael inhales the salty, slightly coppery scent, enjoying the (…so human..) sensations.

Voices; excited but cautious.

Sanji and Usopp are talking to Nami just below. Something about needing supplies but Usopp doesn’t want to get caught up with the Marines.

"Curse you and your charm and your chiseled jawline…your ocean eyes."

Slight commotion below and Luffy is bellowing "to Loguetown!" to which Amael turns the staff in a less dramatic fashion. Not much effort to turn a ship.

Usopp huffs up the stairs fiddling with his spyglass. "To Loguetown I guess, where we can all follow Gold Roger's fate." Looking through the glass, "Amael, do you fear anything? Standing here all calm, turning that staff towards our imminent death."

He's next to Amael, briefly jostling her in the roll of the waves. She bends slightly, resting her chin on her arm, watching him surveying the sea.

Feeling her eyes on him, Usopp cocks his head to look at her with a small smile, "What?"

Not yet answering, Amael takes one of his hands and places it on the whip staff. After a breath, keeping her mischievous eyes on his, she responds, "I think you are pretty charming."

Amael brusquely turns, trotting down the stairs and swiftly climbs to the crow's nest.
