He sees her in the hotel later, biting her nails by the elevator and wearing a baggy hoodie over leggings that only emphasize their slimness. When she glances up from her phone, her face is bare and Max can see the pimple forming on her chin.
She’d hate for the cameras to catch her looking like this.
“Your boyfriend didn’t give you a card?” he asks when he reaches her and holds his own keycard against the sensor. “Not a good look, leaving you here alone.”
George shakes her head, already irritated, but she follows him inside and says nothing when he presses the button to his floor. “He had a difficult session. They’re probably still discussing it. I took advantage of the hotel gym and forgot my card.”
“I’m sure he’s discussing something with his face in another girl’s cunt,” Max says and grabs George’s wrist when she punches him in the bicep. She’s stronger than she looks, thanks to the ridiculous amount of hours she spends doing those bendy exercises with weights strapped to her ankles. “Jesus, I’m joking.”
“No, you’re not,” George fumes and she’s very ugly like this, hair slightly sweaty and lips pressed thin. “Not everyone is like you. Alex is actually a decent person.”
