In a field, a small blue soul sat still, looking around in curiosity.
They were short, chin tucked up in a thick sweater, bandages coating their legs. Honestly, if anyone were to look, their first thought would be: child.
The Soul continues to sit, braiding strands of grass absentmindedly, as if waiting for this new world to greet them.
~ 🌼
The cold air bites at their skin as the wind blows through the plains. There's no noise other than the wind whistling through the gray grass. No birds singing. No rodents skittering. No animals stalking. Its... uncanny... like something deep down inside them was saying this was wrong but there was nothing to suggest anything actually was wrong.
The soul sits in silence, until off in the distance just past a hill there's a flash of lightning and a crack of thunder no less than half a second apart. A faint green glow spills up from beyond the hillside as smoke rises. And just faintly, carried on the wind is the chatter of people.
The blank jumps to their feet, already starting to walk towards the hill. They had a determined expression as they trudged through the gray shades of grass and dirt.
The child had no real choice, but to carry on. Something awaited them. Their hands cup over their eyes, trying to find the source of the conversation.
Reaching the top of the hill they see a small group of people gathered at its base around a glowing green campfire. Two men and a woman it seemed. They sat around making light conversation while drinking amd eating. Sitting at the edge of the camp were their weapons.
The sight of food puts some pep in their step as they run closer, approaching the soft green light.
“You’re green?”
The blank asks curiously, pointing towards the nearest person as if they’d never seen anything like it before.
The woman blinks in confusion and nods slowly. "Uh yeah..." She looks over at the other two. A blue soul with a mask over the lower half of his face, and another man in heavy plate armor.
The blue soul offers a seat next to him. "Hey Blank..."
They wave back to the blue soul, smiling slightly.
The blank briefly looks at the spot they’d been offered, before sitting down confidently. The kid swings their feet as they watch the strangers.
The three look between each other, not sure what to say. The man in plate armor grunts and stands. "Going to look around." He says, his voice is low and harsh.
The blue soul sighs and turns towards the Blank. "Let me guess, woke up in a field, no memories, no idea who you are?"
The blank nods, looking up at the blue soul.
“Yea. Don’t know where this is.”
They shrug casually.
"Welcome to Arena." The Blue says, almost somberly.
The green soul woman clears her throat as she leans forward. "We all arrive here the same way, My name is Emerald, thats Blue."
The man, Blue, nods
”Emerald, Blue!”
The blank echoes.
“My name?”
They ask, clearly expecting an answer. These people were smart after all!

"Would you like to learn how to make a shank?"
@the-gentler-brother-of-sleep
Sharks are wild and ferocious fish, they cannot be made by hands of humankind.
(They shake their head solemnly. They had no idea what this kid is saying.)
(Just as confused.)
"No...not sharks. Shanks. It's like a rock knife."
Sticks are better. You can whack.
Do you whack?
I do whack. I'm practice in the yard on trees!
Shall we whack stuff together?
Does the wolf howl at the full moon? The answer is always yes.
(They nod wisely, chewing on their hair.)
Yay!!
(Grabs a stick off the ground and looks expectantly at them.)
(They pick the perfect stick, a medium sized one with thick bark.)
Proceed to the route.
(The kid smiles at them, starting to march off)
(Marches after them, holding up the stick like a flag)
On my way, captain!
( pretty sure they “beat up” some random stranger and there’s no reason to get a secondary blog in here )

It's rare that Andromeda actually has a good day, but he must have paid off a bunch of karma recently, because nothing terrible has happened today yet. No street-level villain looking to terrorise New York City specifically for some petty, personal reason. No press or anti-mutant loser to bother him. He even actually managed to get a few hours of sleep in! Hell, maybe he should try for the lottery...
Either way, it's been smooth sailing so far, and Andromeda is definitely going to take advantage of that. So far, he's just been wandering through this huge mall he used to frequent when he still studied at Xavier's. The store he currently finds himself in is brightly lit, with an array of albums, stuffed toys, figurines and other kinds of merchandise lining the shelves and bins – k-pop merchandise. A guilty pleasure for sure, considering he used to hide the fact that he liked to come here and still does. Thank god, he's alone today, though. Well... That's what he thought, anyway.
(A small child stares up at him with a blank expression)
They have the pop star fursona toys here.
Andromeda looks up at the sound of somebody speaking, looking around him before his eyes land on the small child. He frowns and blinks at the kid for a moment.
"Uh..." He looks at the plush in his hand. "...I guess you're right. Where are your parents, bud?"
(They shrug nonchalantly,)
Which ones? Lots of em. Uncles and moms and tontons. Lots of em.
"Any of them? Whoever came here with you? Unless you're here alone. In that case, uhm... How old are you?"
(The child looks at their hands, counting.)
This.
(They were holding up 6 fingers, for information)
"Okay... Are you here alone, buddy?"
(They shrug, leaning against the wall like they were impersonating a middle school bully)
Always carrying friends.
(The kid points to their heart with a solemn nod)
In there.
"...Okay. Yeah, you're right. Stupid of me to ask, huh?"
He smiles at them. Clearly, he'll get nowhere trying to question the kid like this. But he can't just leave them alone, either...
"You just wandering around, buddy?"
Looking for things to touch and feel textures.
(They tap the plush Andromeda was holding)
Textures.

In a public store where Hemlock found himself shopping, a familiar child walks nearby, being led by a tall (fluffy) woman.
They wave at Hemlock, opening their mouth in a silent greeting. ~🌼
He smiles softly, waving back at the kid. Nods politely at the woman as they pass.
(The child pauses as another (similarly fluffy) person walks into the aisle, very clearly recognizing him.)
(They begin to tug their guardian away, unfortunately much too slowly to stop the conversation incoming.)
(“Oh! Hello, Tori!”)
(The woman frowns distinctly, looking up from the cereal that the child always demands… it was very low in nutritional content.)
(“Asgore.”)
(”I didn’t expect to see you in the dried goods aisle!”)
(The human looks between them, before letting go of Toriels hand to inch away.)
(“and I hadn’t expected you to scare my child again! do you not have any shame?”)
(Said Child walks over to Hemlock, hiding behind his tails… though it was unclear if it was intentionally to increase the situation.)
He looks between the two goat people then down at the child. He crouches down to be at eye level with them and speaks quitely to just them.
"Hey kid, you okay?"
(They think on the question for a minute, while the arguing continues.)
Fire is imminent.
(They frown in a genuine way at that part.)
"Fire?"
He glances back at the adults, furrowing his brow as he thinks.
"Do their fights often get destructive? I'll protect you. You won't get burned with me here."
Yeah. Don’t get burnt anyways, ‘m fast.
(They shrugged, looking back to the others who, true to the prophecy, had wisps of flame growing upon their claws)
"Hey wanna see something funny?" He grins mischievously at the child.
(They nod immediately, looking very serious. They loved humor.)
