putting hedgehogs in situations

so the characters i picked and their dynamics with each other align closer to the songs than the tgwdlm characters. i'm putting more of a guide to their roles than who's who here (some comparisons are close enough tho lmao)

shadow is the Guy. and rouge is basically emma but more so sibling/bestie dynamic than shadouge? i'm still working on the main fic for it but there won't be much of a romantic read to em, it's more ambiguous there

lanolin, after kicking duo/mimic from the neo dcs, is looking for a new teammate to help make the world a better place. mimic is also currently homeless. these two are also as close to the tgwdlm characters as it gets here, everyone else is more the dynamic of the songs they're in

team dark is currently working with gun at the time of this au. so yes shadow has to sit through commander towers musically ranting about his fantasies with his wife.

tangle and whisper managed to get jewel to take a break from work to do some karaoke at a coffee shop- coincidentally the same one shadow called rouge to so they can discuss the situation. hey uh. why do tangle and whisper know the choreo. why are they perfectly synced. jewel RUN

shadow and rouge escape in time, and find knuckles, amy, and vanilla. they're trying to get in contact with sonic and tails, but no luck. then the chaotix pull up and start singing- oh hey sonic is there too. knuckles smacks him in the head with a garbage can lid and his brain falls out

they manage to get in contact with tails, who lets them into his place when he realizes they're not infected. except sonic. while tails is studying the blue shit, sonic wakes up and plays into amy's crush on him to get him untied and get her infected

amy and sonic scream sing at everyone until tails fucking SHOOTS THEM

vanilla is busy being terrified because she'd left cream alone for a bit to get groceries. she and shadow go back to her place, cream is infected, and her chao are the backup singers? idk but vanilla dies here

tails needs to study the infected further to work out a cure, but he needs a live subject. so he starts up a show stopping number to call more infected over. 300 iq here folks. oh hey it's the cha- oh FUCK it's the chaotix

shadow gets rouge and knuckles out but knuckles bails to go protect the master emerald. towers gets to him here.

“A man who fell from grace,” Graham shrugged.

“A hero who betrayed the world,” Belle explained on live news.

“A fool karma finally caught up to,” Lanolin chuffed.

“A traitor I once called a friend,” Whisper snarled.

“A traitor I once called a brother,” Tangle said with a hand on her wife’s shoulder.

“A bad influence,” Amy lamented.

“A brother I wish I didn’t miss,” Miles sighed.

“An obstacle,” Rough said.

“An annoying obstacle!,” Tumble added, fist-bumping his brother.

“A reality check I desperately needed,” Duo explained.

“A poison the world is only now recovering from its addiction to,” Kit growled.

“A Seemingly Impossible Goal I Somehow Genuinely Surpassed” Metal said flatly.

Surge took a deep breath, the other characters watching with eager eyes…

New tablet SECURED! Pages will be back to uploading regularly very soon. With the chaos of graduating, getting accepted into art school, and a week long vacation, I haven't been able to work on the comic as much as I'd have hoped since getting the tablet- not to mention that while Sonic TBG is my main project, I still have plenty of others I'm involved with. So it'll be a tiiiny bit longer before new pages.

I want to work on a couple pages in the coming week or so and give myself something to queue up while I work on more pages and other projects. My estimated time of return to posting is the first Monday in July. Thank you all so much for your patience!

The tablet I've been borrowing to work on digital art and animation has to be returned, and my personal tablet is broken. I'm unable to work on the comic for a while until I get a new tablet, and I'm not sure how long that'll be. Which means that sadly, the Sonic Bad Guys comic is being put on hiatus.
