Whenever I hear a speech or read a book by successful entrepreneur, business owner, or leaders, I always heard the same comment and tips on how they have become from zero to hero. Tips to start a new habit that set off their successful journey in motion . And what tips to success that is: writing a diary and setting goals.
First, I was astound. What?! … what would writing a few paragraphs or sentences have to do with success. But later on, I realize that it actually helps. Because when you set goals, you subconsciously commit to yourself that you have a task on-hand and keep you focus. Successful entrepreneur claim that setting goal is not enough, We need to write the goals down literally because it is vital to success.
Research conducted by Harvard, concluded that people who set goals and write them down earn 10 times more income than people who do not write goals or set goals but did not write them down.
Ultimately, writing goals are essential for individual and companies. I have work in few big companies, and usually big companies encourage their staff or associate to write goals. I guess leaders want to understand what motivate their employee, or they also want to develop their employee in order to become more effective employee, thus, help improve the company in the end.
How to write goals:
write a SMART goal
it has to be in a place where you can see daily
Well, I have start writing Goal since college. It is a good habit to do, because it can challenge yourself to achieve something our of your comfort zone, and remind yourself if you sway away from it. That is why I try to write goals in one place where I can see my goals every single day.
Where that would be? Where is one thing most people look in the morning and at night before they go to bed?
Well for me, that would be my cellphone. Yes, I write them down on my cell phone and put them as my background wallpaper . That way, I can see my goal everyday, and every time I open my phone, it remind me what I want short-term and long-term. I can see them in the morning when I wake up, when I go to work, when I am socializing, and before I go to bed. I believe this is a good idea for me.
I encourage everyone to set goals and write them down.
