Why must I āmake a hypothesisā and āhave a real research question?ā Is it not enough to be sexy and collect random data until I stumble across a discovery?
no offence but i think a lot of us me included donāt actually want romantic love as badly as we think and really are just lonely and crave a closeness and intimacy that feels out of reach in friendships because of societyās emphasis on marriage and the nuclear family so we project that into the never ending search for a perfect love and a soulmate when really we all just want to mean something to someone
like iām not dissing romantic love i would to be in love rn but i get so frustrated because humans are such social creatures and we need community to survive but we are taught that we need to pair off and so a lot of us spend a great majority of our lives lonely in between romantic encounters or we settle for less and give ourselves away to people because we are in constant fear of ending up completely isolated and alone and itās so sad
This is called amatonormativity
100% amatonormativity, and this sense of loss or something missing in the definition of relationships is not limited to arospecs. Amatonormativity is baked into society as a whole (itās way more expensive to live alone, for example) and its casualties have effects on everyone. Itās just that arospecs come into their identity and sense of self by way of examining these assumptions and trying to figure out what fits. You donāt have to be aro to ask those questions and challenge those assumptions!
But this is a legitimate phenomenon, and nobodyās listening to aros because weāre ācringe.ā The more people we have across the spectrum of sexuality questioning āthe way things are,ā the better itās going to be for all of us.
Absolutely not limited to arospecs (or aces).
As I understand it, when Elizabeth Brake coined the term āAmatonormativity,ā she was mainly thinking in terms of challenging the cultural supremacy of monogamous relationships.
So Amatonormativity is also concept of importance to polyamorous folks, too.
someone said āthe version of me you created in your mind is not my responsibilityā and wow

minimalism is a cute aesthetic but maxamilism is the way to goā¦ā¦ me and my room with too many books and plants and pieces of art and pillows and blankets and and dried flowers and stacks of records and empty pill bottles and half-burned candles and vials of perfume and jars of pens and three decks of tarot cards and art books from museums and sea glass i collected from a beach in greece. maximilism is cute AND realistic. live ur horarding aesthetic goblin dreams.
man I really loved tonights episode
that scene where Jaime kills Cersei in the throne room with his Nedās Valyrian steel, claiming justice on behalf of the Starks and fulfilling Maggy the Frogās prophecy? or when Cersei stabbed him with a knife and he staggered forward and collapsed on the Iron Throne, mirroring when he killed the Mad King? i especially loved when Daenerys walks in and sees his corpse sitting there and understands what he did.
and the part where Sandor cuts of the Mountainās head and leaves his body burning? talk about symbolism! iām especially glad that they didnāt kill Sandor off unnecessarily. i also really liked how he lost his eye in the fight and used the strip of cloth to bind it and how it made him look just like Beric.
that part where Grey Worm stopped the Northmen from killing the unarmed Lannister soldiers was really cool too. you could see how conflicted he was about it, but he knew he couldnāt lose himself to hate. i knew he wouldnāt betray Missandeiās memory.
i was certainly concerned about Daenerys throughout the episode, but she really came through in the end. when she realized that Cersei had hidden casks of wildfire around the city and knew that she couldnāt risk the lives of the civilians with her dragonfire. and how she instead flew straight to the Red Keep to take the fight directly to Cersei? really really good.
when Arya saw Gendry across the battlefield and tried to maker it to him but was being held back by the crowds? that was incredible. and how he could hear her scream his name over the noise of the battle and ran towards her voice even when he couldnāt see her? i canāt wait to see them reunite in the next episode.
George RR Martin called Game of Thrones ātraumaticā and confirmed that theyāve deviated from his plot thank rhllor I can sleep tonight
āGAME OF THRONES author George RR Martin is āa little sadā about the way the HBO show will end the stories created in his Song of Ice and Fire books and would āpreferā it was done differently.ā
āI mean, would I prefer they do it exactly the way I did it? Sure.ā
āIt can also be⦠traumatic. Because sometimes their creative vision and your creative vision donāt matchā
āHe also admits this primarily due to the increasingly overdue final two books in the series: "Some of the deviation, of course, is because Iāve been so slow with these books. I really shouldāve finished this thing four years ago ā and if I had, maybe it would be telling a different story here."
that is exactly my point of view. if all people were given universal basic income, we could have tens of thousands of boring, tedious, dangerous, and long term harmful jobs done by robots, while humans are free to explore their passions without fear of poverty and homelessness.
in a good society, automation means a boom in the arts. language, painting, music, dance, writing, philosophy, architecture, etc. these are the sectors that advance tremendously during periods of human health and flourishing
