Probably a very triggering topic you can skip it but I want to ask.
You have mentioned on Cupheads Sui Ideation that he doesn't want to end himself rather he is accepting if he dies by fate because he feels like he deserves it
But I wonder, does he self harm himself as a form of punishment if any harm comes to Mugs? Since Mugman is the only reason he is still around, would him hurt himself as a punishment if his brother suffers because of him?
A lot of people ask this so i'll do my best to answer:
Sorta. But it's not as visible as many may believe.
The self harm he puts him through is visible when you notice it though. It's not as straight forward: it's subtle
It's cuphead always putting himself on the front lines while Mugman takes the back lines
Its cuphead taking the big tough guy and hoping to get his shit rocked while mugman takes the smaller safer target
it's cuphead risking his soul to protect bendy and the others in the forest or possessing the train, even if he's at his most vulnerable
it's cuphead telling mugman to not be so attached to him or his corpse, to be less dependant or tactile so that it won't be too jarring when- IF he's not there.
Its cuphead not telling anyone about the betrayal Bendy did, so that if it happens to him he'll be ready and to the others "There was no way for cuphead to avoid that betrayal!"
it's cuphead risking mugman's ire to get out of the mess he's made
It's cuphead taking the poisoned drinks directly to the stars making sure he's alone so if things go south, mugman can still escape
It's cuphead doing all of these things that put himself in harms way while keeping mugman at an arms length so that if things go wrong, Cuphead will get what he "deserves" while mugman can get away.
And maybe if he detaches himself from mugman enough, mugman will realize that it's better this way. maybe he wont even be sad.
