The audio cues. I don’t remember who edits it, maybe Christian, but the AUDIO. The music is really great, not intrusive… And dies down/cuts out when they drop from the Mystery into regular talking or joking. I really love that.

Alfredo not really knowing anything about Mysteries or True Crime past the main stream stuff. He represents the majority of the audience, who doesn’t know and who are just starting off listening to True Crime or this subgenre of Internet Mystery.

It’s light. It isn’t a deep dive, it’s in digestible chunks. It’s not short, but it also doesn’t drag on and on and on. And it leaves room for you to do your own research if it interests you or to end at the end of the episode, learning a little something interesting.

It’s AMAZING to me that this show is currently a team of FOUR people (and that includes the hosts). Just fucking wow.

Trevor’s storytelling is so good. His tone of voice, is excitement (and even his banked excitement). I really enjoy it. I’ve fallen asleep a lot to this podcast because they both have such enjoyable voices and deliver the content in a really soothing manner.

Alfredo’s just Fuck No about going “into the field” and exploring these mysteries himself (like Randonautica, Lake City Quiet Pills, or hypothetically ghost hunting on Skin Walker Ranch). In contrast to Trevor’s really excited HELL YEAH lets fuckin’ do it attitude (which is most often me), it’s really nice. AND I think it again represents a portion of the community/listeners (especially when you consider the cultural differences)

Christian piping in when Trevor asks him to clarify something or add more context. He also has a really pleasant voice and he’s SO knowledgeable, doing the majority of the research.

Red Web Radio! Just. It’s so fucking good. I’ve thrown it on while doing homework several times. I’ve probably listened to it like 30 times already. (And the art is fucking KILLER too!)

I’m sure I’ll add more to this later, but I really like this podcast and I think it’s a really great first step for people new to True Crime.

-Fredo’s mind reading abilities! The man might not know a lot going into it, but his intuition is AMAZING. It’s especially so when I know going into it what we’re in for, and listening to his hot takes before they start is so fucking amazing. He’s so spot on all the time.

-Their breaks to riff off each other. So, the thing with these kinds of podcasts, if you’ve never listened to them, is they get HEAVY, especially if the hosts are doing their jobs correctly (which, I think Trevor and Alfredo do a really good job on) and are giving these serious topics their attention. It can be draining! I love that they have a really great sense of breaking up that large serious chunk, and also do it in spots where it absolutely makes sense to do it.

-How easily they can be re-listened to. This is definitely a me thing, but there are some topics and podcast episodes I can go back and listen to, and some I just can’t. It’s usually because they’re super heavy, or they’re about a subject that hits close to home, etc. But I think that the podcast length, coupled with the fact that it’s fairly light and not super deep dives, make this a podcast that is easily binged over and over again. I’ve listened to the Isdal Woman, Lake City Quiet Pills, Happy Valley Dream Survey, and Skinwalker Ranch over and over again, and the rest more than once each.
