hi friends. for today’s Music Monday, I give you Born Under Punches, by Talking Heads, off of their album Remain in Light. This album is constantly praised for being one of the best post-punk albums of all time, and I agree. I think Born Under Punches was a good choice of song to open the album. It definitely gets the vibe of the album across. 

hi all! for today’s Music Monday, i give you A Question of Lust, by Depeche Mode, off of their album Black Celebration. this song is really sweet and loving, and it reminds me of my boyfriend. i like it a lot :) 

when you’re listening to Some Great Reward and Somebody comes on

for today's Music Monday, of course i have to share Blue Dress by Depeche Mode, off of their album "Violator." who allowed Martin Gore to be so sexy!! this song is so sweet and wholesome, like a lot of the songs Martin sung, but also conveys sexiness and sensuality in a way i don't think many of songs Dave sings do. don't get me wrong, Clean, World in my Eyes, and even some of his songs outside of Violator, like Behind the Wheel and In Your Room are rather charming, but they're very demanding. i love the soft but demanding, understanding yet impatient, lustful but loving attitude Martin conveys in this song.. it's just so good!! i think my only criticism of this song would be its extended ending. i'm not really big on long, drawn out endings, but i don't think it takes away from the song so much that it's not listenable.

here's the hoodie!! i love how it turned out :D i kind of wish I had put the letters on the back of the sleeves but i like that they're in the front because you can see them <3

tomorrow i'm decorating some black hoodies i got at the craft store with images off of transfer paper. i plan on making a Joy Division one with the cover art of Closer on it, and the opening lyrics to Twenty-Four Hours (so this is permanence, love's shattered pride) on the sleeves in the Cool Goth Font™. i might make a Violator hoodie too, since i'm obsessed with the album, and the rose with "violator" written through it screams sensuality and softness to me, which is something i find beautiful and would happily display on my clothing. i haven't made up my mind yet though. either way, i am very excited, and will likely take pictures of them if they turn out okay.

so i listened to Violator in full (finally) the other day.. is no one going to talk about Blue Dress?? just me?? okay. :#) 

for today's Music Monday, i share with you "Bizarre Love Triangle" by New Order, off of their album "Brotherhood". i haven't been able to stop listening to this song recently. also, i had a funny thing happen to me regarding this song. i was listening to it for the first time, and when it got to the chorus, y'know, "every time i see you falling, i get down on my knees and pray.." i almost jumped off of my bed, because it startled me that i recognized that part and was able to sing along. i probably heard it on one of the 80s stations my parents would listen to when I was younger and remembered the lyrics lol.

my boyfriend surprised me today by telling me we’re seeing New Order and Pet Shop Boys this september! by then, i’ll have both my vaccine shots, and we will definitely be wearing masks, so we’ll be rather safe, i think. 

today's song for Music Monday is "Pleasure, Little Treasure" by Depeche Mode, off of the album "Music for the Masses." this song is doing circles in my mind :)

i'm struggling a little bit today. i am really anxious and i miss my boyfriend. he sent me one of his shirts and it smells like him. i have never smelled something so sweet. i imagine that heavenly bodies smell like him. i miss him so much, i've been on the verge of tears almost all day. he lives so far away and i haven't seen him since december. oh well.
