I’ve yet to read the article… do you know if they’ve found and prosecuted the people responsible?  A lot of people I love were there… I agree, this seems especially cruel, even for White Crest.

I hope so. It felt like the entire police department was there. If they don’t do anything, I might have to embrace my Gen Z energy and start a protest.

I’m sorry. I haven’t heard any news on anyone who was taken to the hospital. I didn’t know anyone there. Not sure, how long it takes to recover from that. I hope these people don’t have long lasting damage. Did you talk to your friends?

I know we haven’t talked much and I’m still trying to figure out the details on what happened, but are you ok Richter?

[pm] Hey. I’m good, I wasn’t poisoned for some reason. To be honest, it seemed like human crime over supernatural. There were definitely Fae there, but everyone looked like they were just having fun. I didn’t get a bad vibe at any moment, you know-- that instinct that something might go down? There was nothing moving around the building that was suspicious. I didn’t see any monsters anywhere and I stayed after just keeping an eye. 

Holy shit. Sounds like a mass poisoning. Maybe it was only in certain food or drink? I assume the cops came?

It means more work. I am responsible for everyone in my chapter, and I am the go-to-girl for advice even more than I already was. It is wonderful and I am incredibly honored to have been chosen. I am very excited. :) Yeah, I’d love to come by your lab. It’s not strange at all.

[pm] I figured it would. Responsibility feels nice though even if its hard. We’re already programmed to accept such things, right? You will do great.

I wasn’t there. Been laying low. What happened?

Shiloh had never stepped foot into Odd Lane Cosmetics - it was not to say she’d never bought make up before. She actually wore it occasionally, nothing more than foundation and concealer but she typically went to another store to buy them. Never this one. She wasn’t sure what it was about it. There were other places in town that she had yet to visit and it mainly had to do with the general feeling of the place. Anytime she came close, it seemed to always tell her to leave. This time, though, she was invited but that wasn’t to say she didn’t feel some anxiety over it. She just told herself it was a cosmetics store, nothing else.

Stepping in, she spotted Quintin by his wave and smiled at him. Upon coming close she could see why he would want some help at the store “Can I ask what happened?” It might have been a fight - maybe he was mugged? She felt bad for him, even more so because of how young he looked.

“I know a bit about make up. Enough to get you to cover all that. None of those are open wounds though, right?” Now that Shiloh was actually in the store, the place seemed really normal and she didn’t know why she had never come in before.

“Oh, well,” Quintin saw the large wingspan of a moth he had purchased off some bounty hunter in the Bend. It was undead, but still, he was quite fascinated by it and wanted to toy with it’s properties and take samples. It didn’t much like that as expected. He wasn’t very good with undead things. “Face versus the floor. I got a bit dizzy on the staircase and tumbled down it.” He lied with ease and a shrug. “It’s okay, I’m still learning to take better care of my self. Apparently, your twenties doesn’t give you a manual on self care.” 

Quintin looked at all the colors, and styles of makeup. It was pretty, the arrays and hues, and some of the stuff in there looked expensive. His already limited wallet size ached. “No, maybe-- the scratches, but by this weekend they should be healed up,” Q said. “I guess it’s not good to put makeup in open wounds, huh. I didn’t even think of that.” 

He took a step forward, glancing around. “Have you ever gotten a make over here before? I heard they do those kinds of things. I’d be nervous-- having someone so close putting product on me.” 

UUuuuuuuhhhh Yeah, some.  And I feel you, with the helplessness. It’s really not great to be stuck doing nothing while people I care about are hurt. How about your friends? Have you been able to see them?

I’m sorry they got hurt. I do-- wish I could have done something. Anything honestly. I’m sure the feeling is stronger with people you actually love or care about.

What the hell happened over there?

It was nice for a few minutes then people started spitting up blood, and throwing up, and stumbling. I don’t know what happened, but it had to be the food or drinks. They had a buffet. I’m not sure why we all didn’t get hurt. 

Personally, I’m okay, but several people I know were less fortunate. And if I find out who fucked with Remmy, I swear by every fucking star I’ll I’m guessing you’re okay too?

I’m okay. I wasn’t poisoned. I felt really helpless there, it was so many people. Are all your friends in the hospital? 

[pm] I am glad. Yes! Did we exchange numbers? If not, mine is [ user attaches number ]. I’ll text you! :) I live at home but because of classes and sorority things and everything else, I’m on campus a lot. I’m president of my sorority this year!! There is so much to do, but I know I get a thrill out of it.

Quintin was a little bit over his head on this one. He wasn’t sure who else to ask to come along, and he had been a bit embarrassed after speaking to the manager Jae at the cosmetic place. Shiloh had been nice to him, and they had shared an easy conversation, and she had been the only person that came to mind to ask if she could help him visit the store. Quintin was around many sharp minds when he was on campus, especially in the departments of his profession. He had a meeting with the dean of his college over a lecture he was giving, and he really didn’t want them to ask too many questions why he had bruises on his face. 

Which was a long story, and a mishap in the lab. 

When he saw Shiloh he waved. “Hey, I-- I know this is random as hell, but I won’t deny I’m a bit intimidated by all of this.” He rubbed the back of his neck, his face currently sporting a black eye, and a bruise along his jaw under it, as well as some small lacerations on his neck, and hands. 

“I talked to the manager here, and they said they have all kinds of stuff here. I’m not assuming you know how to do this kind of shopping, I just really needed company. So thanks, for helping me.” @evanescentform​

Well, you know, I can’t lie. So that was never an option… This isn’t a good time to attempt a joke, is it? I’m glad you see the grey, and I’m glad you don’t hate me. I always expect that, with other hunters. Because I’m, well, you know. I’m supposed to be hunted. I was, not too long ago, at the lake, and that felt terrifying. There was a man, and I thought– He was so cold. After I helped him, he decided against it, but I wasn’t, ah, a person to him. I was prey, and then I was something to owe a debt to. That’s all. I’m grateful that, for all your suspicions of me, you never. You never looked at me like that.

I just want him to love me. I can’t remember the last time he said it, if he ever said it. And surely he does he does he does, but I thought this would If I could just prove myself, he’d say the words. I just wanted to hear the words. I never have. It’s all rather silly. I thought I could do it. Thought that this would be a good push in the right direction. It’s not. It was horribly stupid.

It wasn’t a decision. I tried. I can’t again. It’s that simple. 

I’d rather you simply refuse than accompany him to find me. It doesn’t matter, of course, if you do or not. It’s not like he can do anything to me, at that point. As soon as he steps into town, I’ve broken my promise.

[pm] I don’t know what to say about that experience. That can easily be me. I get it profoundly, but I also really fucking don’t involving you. Is this hunter still in town?

I can find one. I WILL find one. I-will shove them on their knees and you can just do it. I will almost kill them and you can deal the final blow. 

But I also don’t want you to kill at all.

I feel like I can’t handle this-- I don’t know what to say. I’m speechless. If you just kill one Fae worth killing this would all be over. It’s the simplest, smartest path, and you are choosing suffering, torture. Death. The fact you are proves you are good. I want to save you.

I’m going to save you.
