Eli: There's no such thing as boring documentaries, but I'll humor you and say fine. It's a deal.
Fiona: I beg to differ, on several different accounts but perfect. I can't wait.

Eli: Knowing you, I don't doubt that for a second. I'll be wired for the majority of the night for sure.
Fiona: That's the spirit. I'll be nice and let you pick out a few of the movies but please refrain from any boring documentaries. That's all I ask.
Text || Eli
Eli: This is a moot point, always is. But, yeah. I'll stay over and we'll have a good night, no worries.
Fiona: Okay then. I'm sure we will. I have lots planned for us so it's a good thing you're practically an owl.
Text || Eli
Eli: You make light of everything with this guy. But you're saying it'll be easier to manage since he /will/ be out of town. Fine, forget it. I just want you to be alright. I don't trust him.
Fiona: I'm not trying to make excuses for him but I know Bobby better than you do. He just really wants to protect me and help. Well, that is true though. He won't have to be preoccupied and he can enjoy his trip. I am alright, okay? I know you don't and I can see I'll never be able to change your mind but that's okay.
Text || Eli
Eli: It's damn close. I'm sure you have, he probably makes you doubt yourself all the time. He's honestly very lucky that he has you, but he doesn't act like it. You wanting to make plans while he's elsewhere says otherwise. You sound like you're worried about his reactions.
Fiona: He doesn't mean to and it's not all the time. People second guess themselves, that's nothing new. He may have a rough exterior at times but he's also very sweet and charming too. That's not true. I didn't invite you over just because he'll be out of town. I think any girlfriend would wonder what her boyfriend would say in a case like this but like I said, there's nothing to worry about with us so it's totally fine.

Eli: Oh, I don't know. Obsessing? Overly involved. Fi, I don't think you need to learn anything. You're perfectly fine, possibly too accommodating if anything. It always seems like he has you on a short leash.
Fiona: It's not obsessing. I'm glad you think so. I've been feeling out of my element at times so that's nice to hear. But he's my boyfriend so his feelings count for a lot. I'm not a leash at all.
Text || Eli
Eli: Are you sure you'd call that worrying? It doesn't come off that way, seeing it from a third party. Quick question: are those necessary improvements always having to do with you? Never him?
Fiona: What else would I call it? He's an involved partner. He likes knowing what I'm up to and how I am. This is my first relationship. There's a lot I need to learn about making someone else happy, you know?
Text || Eli
Eli: Right, good intentions. By lingering, you mean lurking in the shadows just waiting to call you out on something you're apparently doing wrong, correct?
Fiona: It's out of concern more often than not. Even if he doesn't have to worry, he does because he cares about me. But sometimes, I don't know. It sounds awful when you say it like that. Again, he's only trying to help. If there's something that needs improvement, he'll speak up about it.
Text || Eli
Eli: Weaseling is putting it pretty mildly. It's wrong of him to act like that. You have the right to have company over any time you want- regardless of whether he's out of town or not.
Fiona: Maybe but he has good intentions...most of the time. I know, I know. I just think it's going to be so much easier this way, with him miles away instead of lingering in the city.
Text || Eli
Eli: I suppose so. Bobby doesn't have to have anything to do with a situation in order to piece himself into it, from what I've seen of him. When it comes to you, he makes things his business. Personally, I don't think you owe him any sort of explanation, seeing as though you and I are just friends. Maybe that isn't ethical in a relationship but I'm the wrong person to ask since I haven't been in one in a while.
Fiona: You'd be correct about that. He has a habit of weaseling his way into practically anything. But this isn't a big deal. You're right, I shouldn't have to. I'm not up to anything bad here. I'm just having a friend over, same as I would with anyone else I'm close too. And besides, he'll be out of town for break anyway. I should have company if I feel like it.

Eli: Eh, she's good enough. I'm not complaining. I hardly sleep when I'm by myself, never mind when I'm hanging out with somebody. I don't think anyone could handle how nocturnal I am anyway. Fat chance of that. It's that I truly care if Bobby gets offended. I welcome any chance to grind his gears but I don't want you taking the heat for anything.
Fiona: In case you haven't realized, I'm up at this hour with you so we can pass the time chatting in person just as we are now. If I need to keep up, I'll sip cappuccinos to stay alert until you finally doze off. You always underestimate my abilities, Elijah. I figured. Bobby has nothing to do with this. And it's not that I'm being sneaky or anything but I don't see why I'd need to tell him. Do you think I should though? Yeah, maybe I'd have to.
Text || Eli
Eli: Good thing she's not you then. She's smitten, that's hardly my fault. I rarely ever go to sleepovers so that in itself will be new territory for me. Of course not, I just- never mind. I'd like that, we should.
Fiona: You're lucky she's not. I believe you need to do a thorough background check on all your employees; let this be a lesson to you. I'm not even surprised to hear that. You aren't exactly a social butterfly but not to worry. I'm going to break you out of your shell. What is it?
Text || Eli
Eli: She forgoes the paychecks since she says I'm charming and handsome enough to have that be pay enough. She's nice, so I don't argue. Because you're dating somebody. Somebody who isn't reasonable about most things.
Fiona: Then clearly she's out of her mind. If I were her, I'd cash in as much as I possibly could. I think you've got her brainwashed. Right, well. We're just friends and friends have sleepovers all the time. It's not like anything would happen. We've got break coming up and I really want to make the most of it.
Text || Eli
Eli: He's moving on up in the world. Oh, hold on, he just got in.
Eli: My secretary's pretty neat, right? Anyway, you want to have a sleepover? Is that even allowed?
Fiona: I'm oh so proud.
Fiona: A real doll. Are you paying her enough to be your lackey? I should hope so. Yeah, I do. Of course it is. Why wouldn't it be?
Text || Eli
Eli: You've reached Eli Goldsworthy's secretary. He isn't here right now but I can take a message for you.
Fiona: Oh? So Eli's suddenly gotten all fancy, huh? Sure, you can leave a message for me. Tell him that if he can find time in his busy schedule to pencil me in, I'd like to invite him for a sleepover at my place. Thanks.

Fiona: I'm going to skip the whole are you awake thing because you never sleep at normal hours so hello, hello.
Sure, I donât really care to be honest. If I recall correctly, Iâm still your knight in shining armor so no other insult you say matters. I still think it was his fault, idk. But then again, I guess I have to thank him because then you wouldnât have seen me in action. So, I guess Iâll let it slide. Well if it wasnât a fight then yeah, sorry, heâs losing interest in you. Although, I donât see how because youâre amazing and you keep me on my toes, and weâre not even together yet. But if youâre always asking for him to be with you, or for his attention, itâs going to come off as clingy. Even if you arenât trying to be. Even from my side of this, youâre being clingy. Asking for him to be with you all the time just isnât going to end well. Some relationships just are like that. The spark dies for one side, and thatâs all that really is. When youâre together for a long time, you can get bored of your girl. Weâre like children in that way, babe. We need to be entertained. I donât know, honestly. Just try to lay off him for a bit. Let him breathe. Youâre all over him, let him have some time to himself to think about what he wants. And donât worry about him. If you worry then youâll become obsessive and annoying. Then heâll really have motive to dump you.Â
You're taking that title and running with it. He wasn't nearby or else he would have jumped in and saved the day. That's just the kind of guy he is but I'm still very grateful you were there to have my back. I haven't done anything wrong or changed so I don't know why his attention span is nonexistent when it comes to me all of a sudden. I'm sorry, not even together yet? David, you're so sadly optimistic. I'm not always asking, at least I don't think so. We'll go days without seeing much of each other and it sucks. So then I'll text or call and then he'll totally brush me off. I am not clingy. You don't know what you're talking about. I hardly think a girlfriend wanting to go on a date or expect kisses is a bad thing, like being with me is a chore or something. Well then you guys suck. Fine, I'll back off but what if too much space makes it so he doesn't want to stick around at all? At least now we're halfway and still holding onto something. This is ridiculous. Being "bored" is not a legit excuse to end things. He's not even trying to fix this relationship. I could dump him tomorrow and he probably wouldn't even bat an eyelash.
