They were deep underground in a base of the Military’s special task force where no one could find them. Only the members of the task force knew this hideout and would never dare to tell anybody else the location. But it wasn’t only for the soldiers of the task force and the generals and sergeants. It was also the base of the soothers.

Soothers were fallen soldiers who were injured during fighting but didn’t die. In their country, it was an honour to die during battle. It meant that the soldier had given his all, that he was dedicated to his country and King. The willingness to die during battle was the most honourable and respectable trait a man could have, and if he fell, he was mourned by the entire country as a hero.

Toji didn’t want to be a soother. He never saw himself in that position. But now he was here, serving his brothers in arms and his King in a different way.
