The core of blue lock

I feel like a big problem within the Blue Lock fandom— or fandom in general— is that people tend to hear a theory by some popular creator within fandom, and completely agree no matter what. It’s like some people have no will to genuinely talk about the media, and discuss possibilities of theories created. I like discussions, I don’t like hearsay. I love critical thinking, and I love analyzing things with deeper thought, especially my favorite media.

For example, I saw someone say, “oh, well Shidou should have a bright, happy backstory because of his foiling with Rin.” I have been hearing this ever since from many people as though if this weren't the case Shidou would be less interesting. Personally, it’s something I heavily disagree with (however I mean no hate through this, nor do I think it's invalid to agree with). I think it’d be interesting to see how two people who went through a similar plight in life go down different paths. Why? It’s common for foil characters to have similar stories in some way; foiling doesn’t have to be an exact opposite. People are complex; I think it would insanely lazy writing to take such a complex character like Shidou and give him an amazing life. Not to mention his tendency to cry/to feel nothing (I cannot imagine Kaneshiro doing this considering that fact).
