A lot of times when we see anything about Mars-Pluto synastry, It mentions how hot & passionate, maybe even sexy in the bedroom it can be. But with all of that passion, intensity and tension it can lead to a lot of conflicts. Theres soooo much energy bent up here, it can often become explosive. The outlet for this energy needs to be sexual most of the time so if it is unable to be released, Heres where conflict starts.

Yes.. the sex can be off the damn walls, it can be very intimate with this placement. I do think that being in alignment with the partner is important for understanding. I'd say its almost impossible to not want to be physically close to somebody you share Mars-Pluto synastry with.

Be mindful of conflicts of issues that stem from intimacy or the lack thereof. Make sure this is a good balance of light hearted, harmonious energy to offset some of this tension. Learn to communicate your needs is soooo important. You might naturally want to become enmeshed with your partner, but space willl be needed in order to reduce some friction.

My only experience with this aspect was a particularly painful friendship, their Pluto in the 6th squaring my Mars in the 4th at 0° exact. It's definitely an intense one. In easier aspects (conjunction, trine or sextile), it can suggest passion and some mild jealousy that's unlikely to be a real deal-breaker. Squares or oppositions are a different story, in my experience.

If astrology is not real why every time I have 8th house synastry with someone (regardless of gender and sexuality) especially when their Mars and Moon in my 8th house, they always lock eyes with me? It’s insane. Even you have never met this person, the amount of time they would want to get near you. It’s a matter of obvious or not.

Synastry For Long Term Relationships in Astrology

1. Strong Saturn Aspects

Typically in harmonious aspect but I’ve seen Saturn in hard aspect in longer-term couples. This is because Saturn is glue. He equals longevity. Seeing Saturn conjunction Venus, or on the 7th house cusp can indicate long term commitment. 4th house means committed home and structured family.

2. Venus in Harmonious Aspect to Saturn

People often associate love with responsibility. They are usually quite committed to their partners and they take their relationships seriously. I often see this aspect in couples that have been together for a very long time, [even if they are not legally married]. If this aspect is in the 5th house, it could mean a committed relationship where people may not even have a ‘title’. 5th house with these two is often the long term “f-buddy” aspect.

3. 12th House Overlays

Remember, the 12th house is also a very “spiritual house”, so there can feel as if there is a soulmate thing going on. When relationship significators are connected with the twelfth house, there may be a tendency to either keep relationships rather sheltered and private. The advantage of this is keeping others out. Usually, when relationships go south, it’s because too many parties are/were involved be it by opinion/busybodies or affairs. Ironically, 12th house overlays can be attracted to secret affairs or relationships. There is often a deep, inner need to look for support from a lover, and some pleasure is taken from keeping things private. Juno is the Roman goddess of marriage, The Greek Queen Hera’s counterpart. When someone’s Juno lands in the house of marriage or the house of home and family, this can be a strong indicator of a “spouse”. If she is making aspects to Venus, Saturn, or the moon even better.

6. Vertex conjunct Venus

Vertex in your chart is your fated point. Your karma. When the planet of Love is sitting on someone els’s point of “fate” it could mean a ‘fated’ connection in love. 

7. North Node Double whammies

North node is your goal in life Where you’re “headed”. When someone else’s NN conjunct yours they are meant to be in your life moving “forward”. For more context, see what houses they fall in and check transits.

8. 8th house Overlays

8th house is about shared resources, karma, death, sex, rebirth, etc. When Venus, Vertex, North Node, Saturn, Moon, or 7th house/12th house ruler land in a partner's chart here, there can be heavy and long term attachments between people. Remember, even though Saturn is considered “glue”, Pluto can also have a very long term “binding’ effect on two people. this house is quite literally the house of “til-death-do-us-part”.

9. Venus conjunct Uranus or Venus in the 11th House

This aspect is very good for people who live unconventional love lives. This placement/overlay can indicate two people who never get tired of each other. Romance could have birthed from friendship or out of the blue. There is always something exciting here. I see this aspect between swingers or those who have open marriages. If you get bored easily or are not a fan of traditional “monogamy” then this is the aspect/overlay for you.

10. Sun Conjunct Jupiter/in the 5th house or 7th House

Favorite aspects in synastry would have to be:

 Mercury conjunct/trine/ or sextile Mercury.Believe it or not, this is number one for me. People think the sexual planets [i.e. Mars, Venus, Pluto] are the most important, or their minds veer straight there in regard to compatibility but I feel that communication is key in regard to inter-personal relationships. If I can’t talk to you or understand you on a basic intellectual level, it will be hard to connect anywhere else. Boredom will manifest and the last thing I’ll be thinking about is being intimate with you on any level.

Sun conjunct/trine/ or sextile Venus. With this aspect it’s not just about love it’s about ‘like’.  So much warmth here. Two people will simply enjoy being in each other’s company without the drama. The Sun person, in particular, will be admired by the Venus person but because it’s synastry, this aspect can/will go both ways.

Venus conjunct/ trine/ or sextile Jupiter. Happiness and abundance are the themes here. Jupiter is all about optimism and luck. Venus is one of the hottest planets in our solar system so she will radiate warmth on Jupiter and he will expand it back. There will be lots of understanding here between two people. Forgiveness and grace as well. Love without possessiveness or jealousy. Two people who will want the best for each other. Sometimes it can be so sweet it can get icky, lol but who doesn’t want to be purely loved just because?

Moon conjunct/ trine/ or sextile MoonLots of understanding. Similar tastes and appreciations for life. Intuition is off the charts here. You’ll psychically know and understand what the other is feeling. The both of you will have intuitive insight and understanding of the emotional needs of your partner.  Highly compatible emotionally and this compatibility will flow through all aspects of your relationship. Venus conjunct/ trine/ or sextile Pluto Okay, I’m Plutonic so this one was bound to come up. With Venus/Pluto aspects are notorious but what’s love without passion? Venus will be obsessed with Pluto and Pluto will simply be obsessed with Venus. Typically since Pluto is stronger/an outer Planet– he will have the upper hand but because it is synastry the effect can flip flop or go either way. When Venus touches Pluto what you will get is an intensely strong and passionate attraction that will not waver over time but grow. The attraction builds instead of wavers. Possessiveness can come into play here of course since Pluto is about control, but the attraction is so magnetic at times it can be overlooked. The sex will be BIBLICAL. The sex can be downright pornographic. You’ll just want more of each other, constantly. Very good aspect in regard to compatibility especially with flowing energies. The harder aspects can cause that Plutonic blow-up that often gives this aspect a bad name. Very passionate and raw but can be sort of fatal attraction-y. Be very careful if you see the Square/Opposition between you and another.

Mars conjunct/ trine/ or sextile Pluto. Speaking from personal experience, and also being Martian and Plutonic myself, I feel at home with this energy. It can be hard to handle for some, but the energy with this interaspect is powerful, competitive and HIGHKEY passionate. If you like a partner that challenges you, this aspect will be the cookie to your monster. Highly sexual because these two planets are super-charged in regard to power. An explosive aspect that can make you remember the other person forever. Even romantic partners that did not go the distance with me I find hard to forget just because of this aspect. Some of the best sex of your life will be with someone you have this inter-aspect with. Sex that you feel even days after the fact. Sex that made/makes your body do things you never thought it could do. Multiple orgasms, untapped stamina… you name it. Pluto’s about the depths and Mars is raw sexual energy. The Harder aspects can be downright dangerous or borderline abusive so please tread carefully if you see them. Mars Conjunct/ trine/ or sextile MarsThis aspect is especially favorable in regard to sexual compatibility. Your body rhythms are perfectly matched and flow harmoniously. Sex will not be awkward and things will flow quite naturally. You are in tune with each other’s drives and will instinctually know what turns the other person on. Moods as well outside of sex will flow this way because Mars is drive in general, not just sexual. Both of you will be assertive in going after what you want and with each other. With the energy between your Mars’ flowing symbiotically, you will not get in each others’ way often. Very harmonious.

Moon Conjunct/ trine/ or sextile MarsHot. Hot. Hot.The moon is such a sensitive point and Mars is again, raw energy, raw drive, raw sex. The strong interaction of these two planets is more sexual… In return, the Moon person will demonstrate a nurturing emotional support and might also spoil the Mars person sexually. The Mars person will just want to fuck the Moon person constantly. Moon Conjunct/trine/ or sextile PlutoGet ready for emotional intensity as that theme characterizes this bond between two people. It extends beyond the mental sphere though. A relationship shouldn’t just be superficial and moon [feelings and emotions] touching Pluto [what’s hidden beneath and our raw desires] is anything but. The physical bond this aspect demonstrates takes on a highly compelling quality due to the emotional connection you share. This is both subtle and deep, and could be something that exists between you without either of you being fully conscious of it. There will be dreams of each other. Psychic links. Two people simply feel connected to each other in a way they haven’t been before; a way that feels very significant. Each gives the other an ego boost, and this overlay tends to offer relationships a feeling of camaraderie and general agreement. The brightest luminary overlaying in a partner’s 5th house is generally considered to be an excellent position for romance and fun. You bring out your partner’s creativity and sense of fun. Often this pair has a strong interest in making children together. I’ve had the most fun with partners and laughs with people I’ve had this overlay with.

Any Planet in your partner’s 8th House:Let’s face it– I’m in love with anything Plutonic, the good the bad and the ugly. Pluto is here to teach… to transform, but he gives us delicious gifts as well. The woman will do the same, make you fantasize about what she did to you while you’re going over spreadsheets drinking your Morning Folgers. If there’s ever a chart with too much Saturn or too many squares, a healthy dose of Lilith will liven’ that right up.

North Node Inter-aspects

The Moon’s Nodes…As points in astrology rather than planets, houses or signs, the moon’s nodes represent the core of our lives. Issues, spiritual links… basically our soul’s purpose.  When your Sun/Moon/Mercury/Venus/Mars/Jupiter or Pluto is touching your partner’s North Node a strong bond exists between the two of you. This aspect indicates a relationship that is constantly moving forward. … The inner planet person encapsulates the qualities the North Node person requires in order to fulfill their life’s purpose. There will be an energy between the two of you which will make it difficult to forget each other. This relationship is meaningful on a deep level for both people. Life-size themes of nurturing and safety relationships with this aspect. I have this link with someone I was addicted to forever and I swear, I’ve had premonitions about him. Things I have dreams about that always end up happening.

Nonetheless, it is a very powerful link between the two people. When someone’s Venus is touching another’s Mars this basic, primal attraction and compatibility. Venus [Aphrodite] and Mars [Ares] were each other’s lovers/soulmates in ancient times/mythology. So in Synastry, the Venus person appreciates how the Mars person pursues him/her. While the Mars person is very happy doing things for the Venus person both are passionate about each other. Sex is hardcore and intense and the physical chemistry will feel very natural.  From my own personal experience and from observation, this is one of the strongest aspects in sexual and romantic attraction. Can mean marriage, yes. It’s a VERY strong dynamic because the Sun is the most powerful luminary. It is the core of your chart if I’m gonna keep it 100. Sort of the “source of life”. As a result, it will feel invigorating in a sense. This particular overlay is actually one of my favorite placements. I think the sun can be overlooked too much in modern astrology as a whole but specifically in synastry. Venus and Mars and Pluto as well as Lilith and other asteroids/hypothetical points usually make people’s mouth water more. There’ll be a sense of familiarity. Because the Sun is such a strong point, in synastry this placement can stimulate two people’s [and i say two people because synastry goes back and forth] desire for commitment, marriage, and/or partnership. It’s extremely magnetic. A LOT of admiration here. Since the 7th house is about partnerships, it’s actually very common, whether marriage happens or not, for two people to be very important figures in each other’s lives. Rarely have I seen this mean one-sided love. Whatever the relationship is will be mutually felt. Of course, it may not always indicate romance- the relationship can be platonic as well. If Venus is involved or making a cross aspect, then values and love will/can be apparent. If the north node is involved, 9 times out of ten this person was fated to cross your path. Of course, you’re going to want to see What the Sun is looking like [debilitated or afflicted] and what the 7th house’s attitude is [empty/full/struggling] to get more context on how things will play out synastrically. Take a good look at the sign/modality of the 7th house and Sun as well.
