Next in the hello/goodbye series – auf wiedersehen, German for goodbye. Inspired by the style of Richard Clark, a British calligrapher and letterer who produced gorgeous works in the mid-18th century. I did a detailed pencil sketch first and then drew it digitally – not easy but I learned a lot !

Because I’m speaking next month at the Typographics conference, they asked me to write an article for their blog, about GIFs, neon and my process. It’s called Electric Letterland: Building neon GIFs in homage to the real thing.

So honored to be speaking at the Typographics conference next month in New York !! My talk will be in the TypeLab, where I’ll be showing my neon GIF making process to a room full of type nerds !

starting new “hello/goodbye” series in various languages. “Hello”s as bright neon gifs, and “goodbye”’s as brush or pen style custom lettering. Good explorations to be done always!
