The Seal of Solomon, also known as the "Hexagram" or "Star of David," or in some cases, "Esalfa," is a symbol formed by two equilateral triangles interwoven regularly with each other. The hexagram consists of two crossed equilateral triangles, and in some cases, a circle appears inscribed at the center.

The meaning of the union of the two triangles is quite simple: they represent the union of heaven and earth, the spiritual world and the material world, as well as the masculine and feminine components.

The lower triangle of the hexagram corresponds to the elements: water and earth, which are inseparably linked to the material world. Its principle directs it downward, towards regression. The inverted triangle at the top of the Seal of Solomon represents the two spiritual elements, air and fire—two elements that represent the evolution of the spirit. One can think of fire as the "Holy Spirit" in Christianity or the purifying fire in hundreds of other cultures.
