wait, you mean that by spending decades joking about how schools are disease vectors because children are just naturally disgusting, adults were ignoring a structural problem they had created? how surprising and not at all precedented

i was taking a picture of this to make a stupid post and my friend lola looked right at me and was like are you taking a photo of that for tumblr? and the cashier overheard and said you still use tumblr? with like audible judgement in their voice and now i feel really fucking humiliated

Let's think about this situation together, the irony of his statement, and what real world situations might lead a trans woman like myself to post the image here.

this is exactly it. when you're inventing reasons to find to throw trans women under the bus, it necessarily undermines the actual legitimate criticisms there are to be had of a work/its crew/etc. the pattern of who is being hyperscrutinised vs what people are willing to forget happened/brush under the rug is so stark. nobody gives a fuck that, say, Rosario Dawson beat up an autistic trans guy who worked for her, people are almost always only willing to moralise in this way about anything they see a bunch of trans women like/something created by trans women.
