it’s so funny that people still argue about dean’s sexuality bc yes the poor writing on behalf of many very straight male writers that wanted so badly to continuously assert that a male character is so rugged and masculine and place him firmly in over-exaggerated americana aesthetics - to the point that it’s literally campy - while repeatedly including jokes where the entire premise rests on dean being embarrassed by any incidental display of femininity or men expressing attraction to him will at some point read as genuinely gay. this is like being surprised when people start to think you genuinely have a foot fetish if all you do is talk about how gross and repugnant foot fetishists are. like is something on your mind buddy…..
