went to the MFA and studied Evening (The Fall of Day) by William Rimmer, 1869. Text is lifted from the museum label describing the work. It’s been a very long time since I did an exercise like this, so I’m pretty happy with the result. It was a great day to draw - I found this piece in a room that was mostly very quiet, just a few people wandering in here and there.

WINTER. Working on a little series of these for the seasons. I think going back and forth between these simpler pieces and the more complicated ones is a good way to satisfy my brain when I’m feeling impatient.

WORDS OF AFFIRMATION. i started this block ages ago - like ages ages ages ago - and i finally decided to do a test print on some sketchbook paper because I just couldn’t picture what it was going to look like. I’m not 100% happy with it but I do love the red. Needs a lil more work. Almost something tho.
