hey so uh, idk if anyone else who listens to markiplier's podcast distractible is gonna see this, but if you struggle with paranoia or unreality or whatever relating to things not being real in some way, be careful of their newest episode (as of writing this), synchronicity. it talks a lot about stuff to do with simulations that could potentially be really triggering. if you want the specifics i'm gonna explain what i got out of the first 17 minutes under the cut, but i couldn't get further than that
they're talking about some psychological thing where once you experience something, you start to see it much more often. wade's example was about not seeing like any of one type of car until he had to go car shopping and noticed it, and then suddenly he was seeing that car everywhere. mark's was something about how a lightpost started going out in the same area way too often for it to be a coincidence, it was something like every time he stepped outside his dorm. i can't remember the exact way it went or what started it. and at one point they straight up bring up the ''possibility'' of life just being a simulation and that's where i had to stop so just. be safe y'all

Apartment hunting has shown me that so many kids my age and younger openly broadcast that they are running away from abusive homes and that they are LGBT. I sympathize completely, but you do not under any circumstances need to be on a roommate finder website telling strangers on the internet that you are part of a vulnerable minority with no one back home who cares what happens to you... just say you are moving out, end of. Once you get to trust someone you live with then you can share the backstory. Internet safety is something that still matters.

It had been a long day. Your last class seemed to drag on forever, and then your professor kept you behind to discuss several points in you latest assignment.
So it was no surprise when you let out a long sigh of relief when you finally got home. You dropped your keys, and hollered, “I’m home!”, before collapsing on the couch.
Ethan, your housemate, yelled something back at you from down the hall, but it was too garbled to understand.
He appeared in the door way to your living room with a question on his face, but stopped his tongue when he saw how tired you were. Instead, he flopped onto the couch with you, pulling your feet into his lap.
"Long day?"
"The longest. It never seems to end, and the only part of my days I look forward to is coming home and hanging out with you." You rubbed at your eyes. "I mean really, am I that boring?"
"Well I resent the implication that hanging out with me is boring..." Ethan teased.
"You know what I meant." You glared at him, but he knew you didn't mean anything by it.
"Yeah, I know. Glad I can help anyway."
"Ethan?" You pulled your feet from his lap to bring your knees to your chest.
"Yeah?" He sat up straighter to look you in the eyes.
"Have you ever thought- no, nevermind." You waved off the thought, but it was to late.
Ethan was invested in what you had to say now. "What? Thought about what?"
"Well, us." You pause to collect your thoughts, not wanting to miscommunicate what you were about to say.
"I think, well what if we were together? I mean... I think I love you."
There, it was out in the open. You wanted to bury your face in your knees, but you also wanted to watch his face for a reaction...
He was being so quiet. Why was he not responding?
"I mean I just, who wouldn't love you, right?" You began to flounder in the silence. "Your sweet, and kind, and-and funny. You help little old ladies cross the street for heaven's sake! I just- would you say something?!"
You were a bit frantic now, your fingernails digging into your calves as you fought to keep from doing anything to startle him.
Ethan suddenly shook his head as if to clear it. "I- wowie. You, you love me?" He reached over and snagged your feet, pulling them back into his lap. "I never thought, that is, I just assumed-" He shook his head again.
"You love me." He stated again, awe in his voice, and then he suddenly realized he never properly responded. "Wow, I just have one question for you."
You nodded, willing to answer it.
"Will you go out with me on a date tonight?"
Ethan barely managed to look surprised before you tackled him.
"Of course you dummy! Where are we going?"

You had a wonderful evening, you went out to your favorite Thai place, and then the two of you went for a long walk in the nearby park, just talking together for hours.
When you got back home, you were both exhausted, and said a quick goodnight before going to bed.

The next morning, you woke up to the smell of something burning in the kitchen.
"Ethan? What caught fire?"
You headed to investigate when Ethan appeared around the corner, hustling you back to your room.
"No no no, get back in bed, and don't come out."
And your door was shut in your face.
"Ummm..." You shrugged, and hopped back in the bed, figuring if the house caught fire, he would have been hustling you out the front door instead.
Ethan reappeared a few minutes later with a tray. He hopped in the bed beside you and place the tray in your lap.
A feast lay before you, pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs...
"You made this for me?"
He nodded vigorously. "I may have facetimed Amy to talk me through the pancakes, but the rest is all me." He turned to face you as you began munching on some bacon. "Hey... Those things you said yesterday, did you mean them?"
You looked up to see him blushing, but watching you closely for your reaction.
"Ethan. I'm the one who brought this all up in the first place, of course I meant them."
You shook your head at him. "Silly goose, I was perfectly serious, and I'm glad I brought it up. How else was I supposed to get you to cook me breakfast?"
He laughed at your teasing tone, then move the tray of food to the nightstand.
"Eth? Ethan? What are you-"
And so began The Great Tickle Wartm of the 21st century.

You were so excited to be going to a carnival! You had never been to one before, but Ethan assured you it would live up to the hype.Â
You were looking forward to getting lost together in the mirror maze.Â
Ethan was ready for the rides.
The day finally dawned and you bounced out of bed. You threw on some clothes and rushed through breakfast, eager to get on the road.
Ethan just laughed at you as you bounced in your seat the whole drive there.
Then you arrived. Not ten feet inside the gate, you were greeted by a clown. His bright blue wig waving in the breeze, exaggerated smile curved from ear to ear.Â
“Hiya! Welcome to the carnival!”
You latched on to Ethan’s arm like a leech. “E-e-Ethan?”
“What’s up?” He reached up and rubbed your arm that held his own in a death grip.
“Ummm... It turns out, I’m afraid of-clowns!” Your last word came out as a squeak when a second clown appeared around the corner. “Eth!”
Ethan pulled you out of the walkway, and out of sight of the clowns. “Hey, you okay?”
Your heart was pounding, as you fought to control your breathing. “I-I- I didn’t know, I’ve never- never seen one in real life before.”
Ethan rubbed your arms for another moment, then looked into your eyes. “Hey, we can go home if you need-”
“NO!” You cut him off. “Sorry, but no. We were both so excited for today, let’s just... Can we avoid clowns?”
“We can certainly try. You have first pick of where we go.”Â
You smiled shakily, this guy is too nice. Taking a deep breath, you forced yourself to not look around for clowns. “Can we do the hall of mirrors?”
The day turned out to be fun despite your fears. Ethan did an amazing job at keeping you in areas without clowns, subtly taking your hand and pulling you away when a clown entered the area, and distracting you with lots of fun.
And when there was no avoiding the clowns, he would do his best to distract you with funny stories, or even pretending to trip on air to make you laugh.Â
It turned out to be one of the best days ever, and you knew you had made the right choice.

You slammed the door behind you, forcing Mark to open it again to let himself in.
“I can't believe you did that!” He shouted as you threw your bag on the chair. “And you wouldn't even apologize?”
“Why should I have to apologize for finally sticking up for myself?”
Mark let out a frustrated breath. “It's just...ugh. We can't keep doing this anymore.” He placed his head in his hands. “I get that it's frustrating, I really do. But you can't get so angry when people try to gender you. Most people have been trained and conditioned their whole lives to think there are two genders.”
“You think I don't know that? But imagine people insisted that your name was Marcus? You know they're wrong, but no matter what you do they just insist that you respond to a title that is not you?”
“I get it-”
“NO! You don't! You can't possibly get it, you've never been in this position before. I try so hard not to do anything that points more to one gender than the other, but all people care about is if they can mentally put you in the pink column or the blue. Which is backwards anyway, all because of Hitler. Why don't people give up on genders, since Hitler was so obsessed?”
“What do you want me to do?” Mark asked, hanging his head. He just wanted you happy.
You shook your head. “I shouldn't have yelled at the waiter, and I'm sorry for getting you banned. I just- I'm sorry.” You sighed, allowing Mark to wrap you in his arms. He rubbed you back in slow circles, and the two of you just stood in each others arms for a while.
“Marcus?” Mark finally asked incredulously. “That's the best you got?”
Ethan closed out the stream with one last goodbye, and then shut off the computer with a sigh. That had been a loooong stream. He was so ready to get comfy and cuddle before a well deserved sleep. He headed for the closet, reaching for his favorite sweats, but they weren't there. Darn, they must be in the wash. He resigned himself to some comfy PJ pants and one of your sweatshirts. Surely you wouldn’t notice it missing.
He headed downstairs, shouting for you as he went.
“I’m in the kitchen!” You responded.
“Hey did you put my sweats in the wash?” He asked. “I can’t find the-”
He came around the corner and started laughing. You were wearing his sweats, he should have known.Â
“is that my hoodie?”
“Are those MY sweats?”
“Alright, so we are both clothes thieves. Let’s have a truce cuddle on the couch and watch a movie?”
Ethan agreed, and the pair of you hopped on the couch, his head in your lap.Â
You loaded up Netflix and pressed play on the show you were binging, but Ethan wasn’t paying much attention. He was to busy staring at your face, your hands absently playing with his hair. This was his favorite place to be.

You were so excited to get to go to PAX for the first time! Everything was ready, you had packed your vlogging camera and a list of the places you needed to be, you were a guest on Mark's panel this year, and he had offered to introduce you to Sean! You kind of had a crush on him, I mean who wouldn't with that accent?
Everything was loaded into the taxi at the airport, and you were off to the hotel.
Sean was heading to the hotel, excited for the weekend. He loved getting to meet the fans, hang out with friends... And Mark was introducing him to someone. He wouldn't say who, but Sean had a guess, considering the members of Mark's panel were public knowledge. He had seen you videos before, and thought you were cute and funny. To be completely honest, he was more concerned he would trip over his own tongue than anything else.
These thoughts distracted him until he arrived at the hotel. There were several others checking in, and the person beside him seemed flustered.
“What do you mean roommate?”
He ignored them as he spoke with the hotel staff himself, until he received the same information.
“I'm sorry Mr. McLoughlin, but there seems to have been a double booking on your room, and I have no more rooms available. The other guest has already checked in, and is attending the convention as a creator as well, if you would like to speak with them..?”
“Sure, I'll bunk over, as long as it's not screaming fans I'm chill.” He grabbed his suitcase and followed the bell boy to the room.
You were frustrated. Someone had messed up the booking, and now you had to share your room. At least it was another creator.
You found your room and were reaching for you keys when someone coughed beside you.
“Excuse me, we appear to be roomies.”
You turned and had to fight back a gasp. It was Sean!
“Um- Hi?” You managed, stuttering out an introduction while shuffling your feet.
“Hello, I'm Sean. Are you willing to bunk over together? I can always go crash on Mark's floor...”
He gestured vaguely down the hall.
“No, no, I'm sure it will be fine.” You tucked your hair behind your ears. “Shall we?” You gestured to the door.
“We shall.” He reached around you to sweep open the door in a gallant gesture.
You giggled as you entered, but your giggles abruptly stopped when you realized. There was only ONE BED.
