sheâs a quiet enough listener for now. sheâs gathering information about her surroundings. while her new housemate talks, examining her area is top priority. she can feel her soul gem curled around her finger. thank god, thatâs there. her spear is in the corner. lots of beds. sheâs grown antisocial as of recent, so sheâs not keen towards this, but sheâll take what she can get. any advantage is a good one.
the cloakâs caught with quick precision, and she slips it on. âiâm kyoko. not exactly keen towards more crazy wish crap, but iâll take it i guess.â a pause, while she thinks. right. itâs basically winter 24/7 in the tundra, isnât it? she could use warm clothes. âiâll pass on a tour of the bunkhouse. i can figure it out. just show me around the place.â
sheâs quickly put her nightmares behind her. theyâre just something sheâs gotten used to. standing up, she waits for yuri to lead the way. grabbing her spear on the way out. sheâd rather not be without it. it wonât absorb into her soul gem, though. she tried when she grabbed it. guess sheâs stuck with it. âletâs get goinâ, then, yeah?â
âfair enough.â itâs easy enough to find your way around the bunkhouse. âjust donât get caught snooping around in otherâs peopleâs stuff and iâm sure youâll be fine.â yuri pops the last of his bread in his mouth as he tugs a cloak on, himself - then gestures for kyoko to follow him.Â
âitâs good to meet you, by the way,â he calls out as he leads her through the house, passing quickly through the living room and down the hallway connecting to the front door. âthe weather in eidolon ranges from cold to insufferably cold. this place can be nice to look at, but it takes some getting used to.â he swings the front door open, letting a gust of the frosty air in. pulling his cloak tighter around his shoulders, he glances her way. âknow your limits and take it easy whenever you can.â ...like how heâs ditching work today. heâs such a good influence.Â
stepping outside, he gestures around them. âweâre in the village centre right now. the whole residential areaâs referred to as the telecosm houses. as you can see, our bunkhouse is one of many.â leading her away from the houses, he points towards a cabin in the middle of the village. âif you end up getting sick or injured, you have to haul yourself to that building over there - the warmhouse. again: know your limits so it doesnât have to come to that.â he resumes walking, though he points in another direction while doing so. âthat cabin over thereâs the tavern. if iâm not around the bunkhouse or outside of town, chances are iâll be in there. itâs a decent place.â he pauses for a moment. â...just donât go drinking anything a kid isnât supposed to drink.âÂ
âover thereâs eidolon hall,â yuri adds, pointing to another building. this oneâs made out of stone. âyou can find job postings and requests in there. helps with making yourself useful.â he vaguely wonders if catoâll catch him skipping out on his scout duties. if that happens... well, at least he can use the newcomer as an excuse. â...oh. and thatâs the crystal château.â its impressive architecture speaks for itself. âyou probably remember it. we all do.â
âanyway, that cabin right thereâs our destination: periâs cornerstore,â he says as they finally approach the establishment. âbut outer eidolonâs beyond this village center. out there, you can find the docks, the springs... leptonâs, where i got that bread i was eating, earlier.â he holds the door open for kyoko. âwe can go wherever youâd like once youâve picked up your supplies. itâs a pretty modestly-sized town, but thereâs always stuff to do.âÂ
