---- “I find much of my inspiration from all the dark fantasy and sci-fi things (ranging from Hellsing to Alien and Mass effect) that it all finally came together to form the shadows of EXIST along with one of the main characters, Leech (how original of me). Along with Leech I also created Binky, Ama and Ama’s boss, Blair. Although I may visit dark and angsty themes I will always make sure there is comedy in there to balance things out. You’ll be seeing mostly weird doodle interactions and illustrations from me while we build up the story, so I hope you’re ready to meet spaghetti obsessed Leech.”

For EXIST I was influenced by the art in 2000 AD comics, Tank Girl and all the classic Cyberpunk and Dark Sci-Fi worlds (Bladerunner, Ghost in the Shell, Aliens and others). My style is inspired a lot by traditional illustrators like, E. H. Shepard, Chris Riddell and Gustave Dore but I also love the surreal and creepy work of Dave Mckean. The main characters I created are: Basket (the ingenious gun-for-hire), Dr Gene Viriday (the dark geneticist and cloner), Gard (Gene's loyal friend and bodygaurd), Geneus (Gene's Proboscis monkey assistant who shares much of her DNA) and several other villains. I will be doing a lot of concept art for the time being; finishing character artwork and working on environment, vehicle and prop concepts.”

In a city where so many strange and weird things occur not many people bat an eye but a local thief who’s pursuit was interrupted by a crash landing couldn’t help but be curious by who she had found!

After Binky saved Leech from his wreckage she decides to bring him along and help him regain his memories.

As well as strange things in this city, many secrets lie within and these two have secrets they don’t even knows themselves just yet.

Another little EXIST update - updated the designs of Gene’s shoulder cannons that she hides beneath the large shoulder pieces of her suit. They’re a combination of cybernetics and organic life. Really happy with how they turned out and got to draw Gene looking a bit more sinister ;3

But also want to say thank you again to my amazing friend Xan for making the “EXIST” title font for us :”D it looks so good. The other font used is one I made a long time ago but seems to do the job for now :3

- Ermine Moth

Quick sketch and design update for my character Dr Gene Viriday, one of the protagonists of Exist - Dawn and an antagonist for the characters of Exist - Dusk. Its been a loooong while since I posted any updates on this page, so thought it was about time I did :) 

Its been a difficult time for everyone but I definitely struggled to maintain my art workflow over Christmas and during the middle of last year. I am hoping that this post will be the first of many updates from me; including some more character art, “World of Exist” art (vehicles, tech, locations, fashion, etc.) and more :3 I felt that Gene’s design lacked real Cyberpunk elements and so I wanted to turn her cloak/overcoat in to more of a cyber-lab coat situation with cut-outs for her hips and sleeves :3 hoping to update her other looks as well (mainly her should cannons and outfit she wears late on in the story).
