Ronald McDonald House San Agustin Graft

Ronald McDonald House is a Charity House that provides space for families with hospitalized children who are in the process of receiving medical treatment.

The house, a dynamic bended structure, finds its resting position on the top of a small hill amongst the topographically interesting surroundings. In the ground floor, a long table centrally located in the public area serves as the joint space for the entire house.It is here that parents find the opportunity to engage in conversation with each other while preparing meals together, thus creating a reciprocal sense of support and understanding.

Near Zurich The discreet polygonal volumes of the two buildings are the result of ideas of visual privacy and vantage points, and with their slanted roofs they constitute a single entity. The concave and convex recesses enter into a dialogue with the exterior space. A sculptural quality is generated, lending the buildings plasticity and a certain lightness. The form and the expression of the buildings therefore aim to fulfill both contextual and formal aspects. The arrangement of the facades follows the same principles. The concept involved is not one of houses with roofs, but rather of building shapes in which the surfaces of the roofs represent a “fifth” facade.

Nuovo Museo dell'Opera del Duomo Natalini Architetti

The new Museo dell'Opera del Duomo will open to the public on October 29th, 2015. Founded in 1891, the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo possesses the world’s largest concentration of Florentine monumental sculpture of the Middle Ages and Renaissance: statues and reliefs in marble, bronze, and precious metals by Arnolfo di Cambio, Andrea Pisano, Lorenzo Ghiberti, Donatello, Luca della Robbia, Antonio Pollaiuolo, Andrea del Verrocchio, Michelangelo Buonarroti, and others. 

The enlargement project has permitted the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo to more than double its exhibition space, its net display area increasing from 2,400 mt2 in the old museum to 6,000 mt2 in the new. All of the museum’s exhibits have been rearranged to reflect the new layout devised by Monsignor Timothy Verdon. They now come together to tell the astonishing story, both sacred and secular, of the monumental complex comprising the baptistry, the cathedral, the dome and the bell tower. Having described the aim that the overall project set itself, we can now take the visitor with little time on a tour of some of the rooms in the museum.

The tall, slim and detached houses have average tree-like sizes (ca. 6x6x12 m) with spectacular vegetation facades. The wooden cabin-like OAS1S™ interiors offer a fully customizable gross area of 160 m² over 4 floors (basic model). The floors are connected by easy stairs with glass halls, and an impressive 12 m high view towards a skylight. Each floor offers a different view towards the surroundings by large windows with loggias or French balconies.
