Too Busy Boondoggling

I know some of you have been patiently awaiting the next installment of the Chara comic.

I'm sorry that I just kinda dropped off the face of Tumblr for so long.

Truth is, I sorta had a weird personal.. life.. crisis? (I guess you could call it that)

I've always been good at coming up with stories and scenarios but never have I been good at finishing said projects.

My job, my financial situation, my loneliness, and all those unfinished works were piling up and baring down on my mind pretty heavily.

I felt like such a failure.

I've been a big ball of depression and self-loathing since my preteens, but all that kinda came to a head a few months back.

Something in me snapped.

I got rid of most of my stuff.

Anything that didn't have a practical use was either thrown away, sold, or given to family or friends.

I changed my diet. I no longer drink sugary beverages and only eat carbs when the craving are just too much.

And lastly, I burned all of my artwork.

Sketchbooks, painting, doodles, unfinished comics, and even all my diaries and journals I've kept throughout my life. (Note: for some reason I kept my dream journal) Anything that wasn't on my PC's hard drive or a flash drive is now just soggy ashes in the bottom of my dad's burn barrel.

Honestly, even now, I don't feel like doing what I did was a mistake.

Not only was it very liberating, but I feel like I've grown alot and am even a much healthier person because of it.

My biggest regret in all of this is that I stopped doing art for a long time.

I was afraid I'd end up doing the same thing as before.

But that didn't last long.

Like a living being cannot physically survive without consuming food or water, as an artist, I can't mentally survive without scribbling down stuff with pencil and paper.

And, unfortunately, I've already started a small collection of different WIPs...

But before I get too into doing that again I'm going to do my best to focus on just one project.

I'm going to do my best to work on and someday finish the Chara comic.

So, once again, Sorry I dropped off like that.
