(This is going to be the shortest version of events that I can do for you.
Sorry. I struggle to condense the story even more.)
4E 174 - 180: Chapters — Childhood & Origin.
Barely able to speak, if at all, and extremely shy, anxious and mousy. N was regularly beaten by Grelod, completely unable to defend herself, while the other children constantly picked on her. Her only support and safety were Brynjolf, Vex, and Tonilia, who became her sole friends and protectors. Brynjolf faced his own share of bullying for being the son of a murderer. Unlike N, he was a proper rascal who didn't let it get to him; even if the words stung, he fought back whenever anyone ticked him off (or dared to hurt defenseless N). Meanwhile, Vex and Tonilia were targeted by the others as well, willingly taking the heat just for associating with a "future killer's son" and keeping N safe under their wings. (Age 0 - 6)
4E 180 - 181: Finding Refuge. She frequently ran away and constantly hid behind Brynjolf, learning to be as quiet as a mouse to avoid triggering Grelod's wrath. On her 7th birthday, Brynjolf gifted her her long red scarf; the one she wears to this day. Looking up to the thieves, she constantly told Vex and Tonilia that she wanted to be just like them when she grew up. She already knew Karliah, who often spoiled her with sweets and kept encouraging her to try and speak. First theft: A sweet roll.
(Age 6 - 7)
4E 187 - 189: Chapters — First Steps. Mouse became an informal Guild associate for a few years and started her official apprenticeship at thirteen. The Guild and her childhood friends taught her the basics, and she stole regularly to survive the streets, pocketing food, drink, blankets, and coin. Niruin entered her life and taught her about the Bosmer, and she began her training in archery, tracking, and basic alchemy. Sneaking became a major skill early on, developed out of sheer necessity to avoid Grelod. She also started cooking to take care of her friends and feel less like dead weight. At thirteen, she called Delvin a "skeever's arsehole" without a single stutter, and from that day on, the stutter slowly vanished. (Age 13 - 15)
4E 189: Mouse stole a lute, then a guitar, and started her secret hobby, which completely rid her of the rest of her stutter. At age 15 N could speak fluently and confidently after having developed her own way of speech.
Entering the famous rebellious teenage years, she became more cheeky by the day, appearing much more courageous and sometimes even overconfident.
The shyness was not gone; N simply had learned to hide it and act tough. Sweetness and shyness wouldn't survive on the streets, so she had no choice but to fake it all. Her skills became more refined, which helped build her confidence, and her scouting skills skyrocketed during that time as well. (Age 15)
4E 191-4E 194: Chapters — Among Thieves. Officially joined the Guild shortly after her 17th birthday. Guild life quickly became routine and she ran jobs regularly. The bond with her friends deepened even more so and she quickly became a favourite in the Guild, which was absolutely because if N was there, there was always some good food! Also, the "we're just friends" era with Brynjolf began at the age of 18.
To be fair, they had always been very close, but the friendship slowly changed into something more romantic. Brynjolf always called her "Mouse", disguising it as a tease or a joke, but it was actually an earnest endearment. (Age 17-20)
4E 194: She killed Grelod the Kind on the 6th of Evening Star after meeting Aventus Aretino in Windhelm. She declined the Dark Brotherhood's offer afterwards and found Constance as a replacement to take care of Honorhall. N threatened to kill her as well if she ever dared to hurt the kids. After that, she personally funded food for the orphanage, using her stash in Avanchnzel. (Age 20)
4E 194-4E 195: Among Thieves continues. Brynjolf and No One grew much closer. Brynjolf stopped fooling around or settling for other women and bodily pleasures. It felt wrong, and both of them needed to sort out their feelings first.
The "just friends" era was a common inside joke in the Guild for a long time, as everyone already knew that the two of them hadn't been just friends for quite some time. Everything escalated, becoming more intense and increasingly unbearable, up to a point where they almost kissed. The kiss was interrupted by a very angry boar and a few bandits; however, it also led to Brynjolf secretly stealing an Amulet of Mara. He hadn't decided to ask yet, but he was playing with the thought and wanted to pick up that kiss once she returned from her current job. (Age 20-21)
4E 195: The Windhelm job was a standard shill, but in reality, it was a trap.
N disappeared... and didn't come back home...
It broke Brynjolf's heart. The Guild searched for her, using every contact and every lead in Skyrim and beyond. There was no sign of her anywhere, and it appeared as if the earth had simply swallowed her whole. Brynjolf kept the amulet in his pocket for quite some time, and as weeks turned into months, he slowly had to accept that N might have ended up dead somewhere on the road. (Age 21)
(This trap was an attempt by Mercer to get rid of N, as she’d begun to suspect he was lying to them. This part is crucial for the story later and contains multiple plot twists, especially since Mercer was pocketing the coin the Guild spent on tracking N down, which directly fueled their decline. When Mercer's betrayal in year 201 will be revealed, it'll add another layer of coldhearted cruelty to it and increase the drama.)
4E 195-4E 196: Chapters — The Missing Years.1.5 years captive in Kasterstein, near Rivenspire, High Rock. N was Lord Alderween's slave alongside a dozen other women. Even with lockpicks, escape was nearly impossible for quite some time. Alderween had a lot of influence and was, unfortunately, very intelligent. Outsmarting him was far from easy, and N needed to be extremely careful not to trigger his anger.
If you need a reference for the extremes of Lord Alderween (OC), think of Ramsay Bolton in Game of Thrones. (Age 21-22)
4E 196: Kasterstein burnt down. Alderween was killed by N and the slaves, who were now wanted for arson, murder, and multiple other crimes. Nobody believed them; Alderween had set things up very cleverly and ensured that his lies would continue even after he died. After she broke the cursed whip he had used to punish the slaves, Molag Bal offered N the chance to serve him, as he was pleased with how brutally the slaves had killed their tormentor. N declined, and at that moment, the wounds on her back started burning. This marked the beginning of the "curse ark".
However, one could argue whether it was truly Molag Bal who had spoken...
or if there was something entirely different going on. (Age 22)
4E 196-4E 197: Six months fled toward Skyrim, then through the Druadach Mountains, cutting off her hair to be more unrecognisable. During her journey, she also sought out multiple healers to help with the pain or find a cure for what had been done to her. The wounds on her back wouldn't close and often oozed a blackish substance that burnt. Worse than the physical agony was the relentless psychological torture of the curse; she constantly heard a torrent of mocking whispers that threatened to break her sanity. Sometimes it was Molag Bal's cruel rumble, sometimes Grelod's screeching malice, and worst of all, the distorted voices of her own friends, all weaponising her deepest insecurities.
It chanted: If "No One" wanted to be "Someone", then she had to be feared, she had to be grand, she had to kill her way up to the top of the food chain. None of it was real, but the curse made the mental torment feel entirely inescapable. (Age 22/23)
4E 197: Forsworn ambushed her near Markarth. Argis the Bulwark was camping and hunting nearby when he witnessed the brutal assault; the Forsworn intended to violate and kill her, but Argis intervened, ruthlessly removing a few heads from their shoulders and saving her life. Weakened, N collapsed right there. Unsure of what to do, Argis brought her to the best healer he knew.
While Bothela treated her standard injuries with ease, the horrific wounds festering on N's back were an entirely different story. The old woman was utterly shocked, chilled to the bone by the sheer wrongness of it. She had never encountered anything like it before and had no earthly idea how to even begin treating them. (Age 23)
4E 197-4E 198: Continuation of "The Missing Years."
N spent approximately one year in Markarth. Slowly, trust built between Argis and her. Gradually, her hair grew back while Argis tried to help N find a cure or something that could break the curse. None of their efforts helped. Both the Vigilants of Stendarr and a plea to Meridia brought nothing. N told Argis what had truly happened to her and what Alderween had done to her, after a few of the deceased lord's men attacked her in the city. The men from High Rock came and went, searching for the murderer. Bothela's search for information yielded just as little as all of N's and Argis's efforts, but she identified a myth about an ancient flower that had the potential to break any curse. However, nobody knew if this tale was but a fable or real. (Age 23-24)
4E 198: Terrified to go home and let her family see her like this, N's mental state weakened all the more so. The voices in her head made it worse and led to actions of despair. For a time, Argis had to keep a close eye on her to ensure she didn't develop an alcohol addiction or try to numb the pain with skooma.
Despite all his help, N slipped away from Argis and framed him for theft, which dishonoured him and made him a wanted man in Markarth.
And all this after he had offered to bring her home, saved her life, took care of her. Livid and frankly hurt by her actions, Argis followed her and caught up to her near Ivarstead on her way home. At first, he wanted to bring her back to Markarth and make her pay for her crimes, but in the end, he understood that her actions were desperate and irrational. Still, he demanded that N return the goods she had stolen from Jarl Igmund, demanded that she pay for the things she had broken, and brought her back to Riften… as he initially promised. (Age 24)
4E 198: Chapter — What No One had seen coming.
Bricking it but massively relieved, N stepped into the Ragged Flagon with Argis by her side. Dirge blocked their path at first, until he clocked N’s unmistakable bow. The second N sobbed his name, the whole place went dead silent. The entire Guild was completely floored; pure shock and disbelief all round.
Brynjolf bolted forward, catching N right as her legs gave out, holding her tight while she sobbed uncontrollably. But when he accidentally put pressure on her hidden injuries, she screamed out in agony, which had Argis stepping in straight away.
While Vex was sorting out N's wounds, Brynjolf gave Mercer a quick heads-up about their 'dead' thief being back, before turning straight around to demand answers from Argis. Down in a private backroom, Delvin poured the drinks while Argis laid out the hard facts, spilling everything he knew. Brynjolf was absolutely livid and lost in a helpless, murderous rage, smashing his fists into the stone wall until his knuckles bled. N was back, alright, but once they realised what had been done to her, the Guild wasted no time calling in every favour and contact they had, desperate to find a cure for the foul curse she'd been slapped with. (Age 24)
4E 198 - Sun's Dusk: Chapters — Home Sweet Home Part 1.
Since N wasn't even allowed to think about lifting the curse, the Guild took full charge of tracking down a cure. Everyone tried to get back to normal life as much as possible, mostly to give N some sense of stability and normalcy again. Long story short: a fair bit of jealousy kicked off between Brynjolf and Argis from here on out. It turned into a bit of a love triangle, even though Argis knew full well that N’s heart belonged to Brynjolf anyway.
At the same time, her mates realised after a few proper chats that N still thought incredibly poorly of herself, which caused some serious friction and arguments. While a few attempts to find a cure went absolutely nowhere, N had moments where she felt fairly alright, only to crash hard the next. On some days, the voices were so loud and the pain was so brutal that she could barely get out of bed to help hunt for a cure. On other days, it was manageable, and between the jokes and the regular Guild life, she almost forgot about it. The two of them didn't talk about the kiss for a good while; they had much bigger fish to fry. The Guild was on the decline and doing badly—coin was tight, and jobs were barely coming in. Delvin still reckoned they were cursed, though he stopped saying it out loud, since talking about curses wasn't exactly brilliant for N’s mental state right then. The first half of "Home Sweet Home" covers the first few months back home and contains more plot points as well.
(Little did they know, the gold they’d used to track N down during "the missing years" and were now bleeding away to find a cure, was secretly being pinched by Mercer for his own pocket, sending the Guild further down the drain.)
4E 199 - King Harald's Day: Chapters - Home Sweet Home Part 2.
The Guild had another crack at lifting the curse with the rites of the Vigilants of Stendarr, but it was no good. They even looked to other Aedra and Daedra for help, but it seemed completely hopeless. It almost looked as if the curse had taken root for good and there was no curing it. Information appeared to be vague at best and often they considered following the fable Bothela told Argis about. At the same time, N was targeted yet again by an assassin who tried to shank her right during the holiday. Before the bastard could get close he ran straight into Brynjolf’s blade, putting a swift stop to that. There were times when Guild life felt almost normal again, and others where it became blindingly obvious just how dangerous of a spot N was actually in.
Meanwhile, Brynjolf’s jealousy was getting worse and worse. He absolutely hated how close Argis was to N and how familiar they seemed. Even though he kept telling himself they were just mates, it really ate away at him; at the same time he told himself that he was being absolutely ridiculous. N, on the other hand, actually found a proper confidant in Argis; who was someone she could talk to about her feelings for Brynjolf without worrying he'd go and blab to the rest of the Guild.
Even if we do pick up a fair bit of info about the curse and get a step closer to a cure in these chapters, it's still mostly about the homecoming, her finding her feet again, and some slice-of-life bits. Expect plenty of drama, rows, and proper heartache too. (Age 25)
4E 199 — Chapter "Kyne's Week" :
Argis shared a warm, tight hug with N before the festival, which Brynjolf caught sight of. He didn't have the full story, though; Argis had secretly tracked down an Amulet of Mara for N to help her finally confess her feelings to Brynjolf. It was just a friendly gesture, but it was completely misread, fueling even more drama.
During the celebration, the Guild pulled in a decent amount of coin to cover some running costs, but the overall decline was getting worse, leaving them scrambling just to afford the basics. While N kept hunting for a cure, she also tried to get back into the swing of things, handling most of the pickpocketing around Riften.
To help the others secure their loot, N actually sang in public for the first time as a distraction, playing the role of a bard. After a bit of banter, she shared a playful dance with Argis, but Brynjolf took over soon after. He immediately mentioned her performance, but N told him straightaway that it was the absolute last time the Guild would ever hear her sing, and she'd smash the face in of anyone who brought it up in the future.
As the evening grew late and the crowd thinned out, the dance became much more romantic. As they slowly stopped, N whispered something in Brynjolf’s ear, and they later met up at the harbour docks, where N sang one last song meant only for him. They drew closer and closer, remembering the kiss years ago that had been interrupted by the boar and the bandits… until their lips finally met.
No matter how worthless, damaged, or broken N felt inside, Brynjolf loved her.
(First Kiss, Kyne's Week, Age 25)
4E 199: Right after Kyne’s Week, N went down to do a spot of fishing just outside Riften one morning, when she got jumped by the late Lord Alderween’s men again. Luckily, Rune and Thrynn clocked the ambush just in time and helped N wipe the lot of them out. They left one bastard breathing, though, dragging him back to a dingy backroom deep in the Ratway.
They tied him up to a chair, and Brynjolf, Delvin, Argis, Vex, and N masked up to squeeze him for information. In the end, a bit of blackmail and threatening his family did the trick. The Guild kept a massive chokehold on the bloke, forcing him to spin a tale to his people that N was dead so the hits would finally stop, before letting him vanish to start a new life. It was dirty, criminal business, but it worked.
Crucially, the confidence N showed during the interrogation actually felt... real this time. It wasn't just a front anymore; she felt it deep down in her heart. Even her wounds stopped hurting as brutally, bleeding way less of that nasty, burning black gunk.
Eventually, they actually managed to wring some solid intel out of the guy too—turns out the mythical Nirnrose, which was rumoured to cure any curse, might actually exist. On top of that, Brynjolf realised a load of his letters to his contacts had been intercepted and never made it through. He was absolutely kicking himself for not looking into it sooner; the mere fact that Enthir had never replied should’ve set off alarm bells. In the end, he asked Argis to ride out to Winterhold to hand-deliver the letter to Enthir, or better yet, drag the lad straight back to Riften. Brynjolf reckoned Enthir was their best shot at uncovering the secrets to breaking the foul curse on N’s back. (Age 25)
4E 199 – Sun's Height — "The Hearts Cut":
After Argis left to fetch Enthir, Delvin, Brynjolf, and Vex gathered in a private room again to map out their next steps and thrash out emergency backup plans just in case N was targeted again. Delvin floated the idea of setting up a quiet, active arrangement with the Dark Brotherhood to get more ears on the ground. Though Vex and Brynjolf weren't thrilled about dealing with bloody assassins, they agreed it was worth a quiet conversation soon given the massive stakes. However, dealing with the current issues at hand was by far not the only private topic they needed to talk about. Delvin shifted the chat to Brynjolf's love life, who confessed he’d been carrying an Amulet of Mara under his armor for three long years and planned to propose by the hot springs at sunset once N was properly healed and safe. He meticulously planned the entire setup based on her favourite book, demanding honey candles and heaps of wild red roses. Vex took charge of the candles, while a grumbling Delvin got stuck with flower-picking duty. Alongside dealing with the Guild's decline and hunting for a cure, Vex and Delvin now had a top-secret side mission to pull off.
4E 199 — Sun's Height – "Of Myths and Roses — Ark Begin":
Argis successfully brought Enthir back to Riften, who tagged along without much convincing the second he heard what they were up against. Intrigued, Enthir wanted to see the wounds and the curse for himself, later cracking open a book that Bothela had already checked out. While the mythical Nirnrose might actually exist, Enthir didn't reckon the curse was what it seemed to be. After digging through all the info he’d been given, he got a rough idea of what was actually going on. Neither Aedra nor Daedra were to blame, which explained why none of them could lift it. Molag Bal was nothing but a lie; Enthir was dead certain he didn't have a damn thing to do with it. Instead, he mentioned he'd only heard of something similar once before, suggesting it was down to witchcraft—and the victim's own psyche being weaponized against them.
Either way, Enthir deliberately kept a few cards close to his chest, suspecting that the cure lay neither in some mythical flower nor in holy rituals, but in something different entirely. This section covered a fair bit of plot, dropping a few teasers for the upcoming mission alongside some serious planning.
4E 199 — 1st - 3rd of Sun's Height:
Long story short, this section was a bit of slice-of-life stuff focused on preparing for the upcoming mission. It covered a chat between Argis and Brynjolf that started out tense but ended up with the two of them actually getting along. Brynjolf hadn't been happy about how close Argis was to N, but Argis assured him he had absolutely no intention of stealing his girl, making it clear he’d known from the start that her heart belonged to the redhead anyway. Brynjolf, who’d previously seen Argis as nothing but an annoying but necessary thorn in his side to keep N safe, gained a newfound respect for the lad and ultimately asked him to tag along on the mission. Argis agreed, though he let him know he’d be staying behind in Markarth once it was all done. The section also covers a few romantic, intimate moments between Brynjolf and N, alongside the usual daily chores to set up their upcoming journey and quest. I love slice of life <3
4E 199 — 4th of Sun's Height:
The lot of them set off and, after about a week on the road, made it to the mouth of Darkfall Cave. It was pitch black, gloomy, and the trek through the cavern was brutal. N could barely fight like she used to, and every single shot with her bow had her in agony, but she was still clawing her strength back day by day. While the group took a breather and Tonilia tended to her wounds, she could have sworn that at least one or two of the gashes on N's back had completely vanished. Completely baffled, Brynjolf had a proper look himself and confirmed it, raising a few eyebrows among the rest of the crew. Argis was ready to swear blind that Brynjolf wasn't seeing things, but any further head-scratching was cut short by a sudden Falmer ambush. Their campsite was clearly a death trap, so Argis decided to take the first watch, with Rune taking the second. Even though N was feeling a bit better, her legs were totally done for the day, and she had to face the reality that her muscles had weakened. But instead of letting those words sting, N just took it on the chin as a hard fact without any judgment. Argis was spot on, and she needed the rest. Over the next few days, the crew —made up of Brynjolf, Tonilia, Argis, Rune, and N— fought their way through the cavern until they finally made it to the Forgotten Vale. Once there, Brynjolf went back through the notes Enthir had given him, since from here on out, every single step had to be carefully calculated and a certain ritual of stepping through portals needed to be followed. This section of the story led into several attacks, challenges, and other trials before the group finally crossed paths with Gelebor.
4E 199 — Forgotten Vale:
Since Gelebor was guarding the Inner Sanctum and waiting for the Chosen One to turn up, he refused to let the thieves pass at first, kicking off a brief scuffle. However, it quickly became clear that the Guild weren't his enemies and didn't want to cause any trouble; they were just desperate to help a beloved friend break a foul curse. Gelebor called a halt to the fighting and examined the wounds on the girl’s back, listening to Brynjolf’s urgent pleas with a gentle, warm smile. It seemed like Gelebor understood exactly what was going on, and he asked N what finding this mythical Nirnrose would actually mean to her. N told him straightaway that it would be the ultimate proof that she could overcome anything—that she wasn't worthless, and she certainly wasn't "No One." It meant that if she could do it, then it would be true: "She was already someone and she could be anyone she liked to be."
Moved by her answer, Gelebor used the pilgrim ritual to open up another portal for the crew, leading straight to the Falmer gardens. That was where the flower they were hunting for was waiting, though he warned them the place was guarded by a certain force they'd have to square up against. Since he couldn't leave his post, he wished the group the best of luck, hoping to see them all back in one piece later on.
4E 199 — The mythic Gardens of the ancient Falmer:
The crew quietly slipped into the garden; and promptly met the "force" Gelebor had warned them about. The dragon seemed to be fast asleep, and the flower that looked like the Nirnrose was sitting right in front of the beast.
Unfortunately, they hadn't even taken three steps before the dragon—Xamath—woke up, and a fierce battle kicked off, with Argis getting badly injured after being slammed hard against a wall.
Shortly after, the dragon began to speak, taunting the group and lastly N that a nobody like her had no right to lay a finger on his treasure.
Gritting her teeth, N roared back, "No One is like me!" at which the dragon laughed and shifted its shape.
Suddenly, they were squaring up against Molag Bal himself, sparking another brutal fight mixed with a heavy slanging match (heavy verbals & physicals; reality distortion).
Once again, the creature morphed, turning into her friends as the area grew dark. The voices quickly got into her head, but Brynjolf reached her in time and snapped her out of it, reminding her to listen to his voice and not the voice of this monster. Once again, the beast morphed, turning into a massive Grelod who began trampling the group, injuring both Brynjolf and Tonilia in the process.
Everyone was running on fumes as the fight reached its boiling point, ending with N snatching the rose, pinning it to her arrow, and shouting with total conviction,
"I'm not No One. No One is like ME! And I can do anything!"
The arrow flew, bursting with powerful magic.
Grelod dissolved into nothingness as the arrow hit, and in the end, neither the garden nor the dragon remained—just a beautiful, frozen lake.
Stunned, N stood rooted to the spot, her bow still drawn, as all her pain suddenly vanished into thin air.
She repeated her cry once more, and as her mates slowly picked themselves up to get to her, they noticed something fundamental had changed.
Disbelieving, N looked at Brynjolf, threw her arms around him, and burst into tears. As Brynjolf held her tight, he realised she didn't flinch or wince in pain.
Tonilia carefully nudged her clothing aside and beamed at Brynjolf, who saw it too: the wounds were completely gone, as if they’d never been there.
The curse was broken, and Brynjolf could finally squeeze N as hard as he used to without having to be careful. They’d done it! And most importantly of all, N finally realised from the bottom of her heart, that she'd beaten the shadow that clung to her all life long.
Leaving the lake behind, they made it back to Gelebor and reported their success. Gelebor looked at N and smiled, seemingly saying something without using speech. While he asked the group to leave the Forgotten Vale, he left them with a cryptic parting thought: "What can be far worse than any demon or any shady god is a person's own mind and the way they think about themselves. Sometimes the greatest curses in the world aren't divine at all, but spring directly from our own hearts. Never forget who you are."
4E 199 — 28th Sun's Height — Nothing in the way:
After the crew successfully made it out of Darkfall Cave, Argis said his goodbyes and gave N one last hug. Brynjolf smirked at him, and Argis wished him the best of luck with his upcoming plan, causing N to be completely baffled when she tried to ask what they were on about—not that she got an answer anyway. Meanwhile, Rune and Tonilia rode on ahead on Brynjolf’s orders, while Argis packed up a few bits and bobs he wanted to bring back for Bothela before finally heading off himself. The nightmare was officially over, and "No One" had finally become "Someone"—even though she’d actually been that person all along. This section serves as a brief wrap-up and a smooth transition into the next section.
4E 199 — 31st Sun's Height — Mara's Blessing:
Instead of riding straight back to Riften and taking a shorter route, Brynjolf insisted they make a detour to the hot springs simply for the pleasure of enjoying themselves for a day or two. Rune and Tonilia would let the others know, as he simply wanted N all to himself. With a dreamy smile on her face, N had absolutely no objections. When they got close, Brynjolf suddenly asked N to wait where they stood for about half an hour before following him down the path. He had a surprise for her, he said. Baffled and shy all over again, N nodded, then waited.
When the time was up, she made her way down the hill and immediately noticed the path and wooden walkways lined with glowing candles and scattered roses.
Down on the stone terrace beside the hot spring, Brynjolf stood waiting in his finest clothes next to a carefully prepared campsite, and N’s favourite book about the redheaded thief in his hand.
She recognised the scene at once. Her heart slammed against her ribs. Stunned, she asked what all this was, the words tumbling out in a heavy stutter as her cheeks burned bright red. Enjoying the view, it was exactly the reaction Brynjolf had been hoping for because it was one of the many things he loved about her. Gently, he took her hands gently in his, holding them close with one hand while the other slipped into his collar. Suddenly her eyes widened, as he pulled out the Amulet of Mara.
With everything he’d been holding back for so long finally spilling out, he told her how much he regretted not kissing her that day after the wild boar incident.
Finally, he admitted he’d been carrying the amulet ever since she disappeared, and that he couldn’t imagine asking anyone but her. He had been terrified to lose her, and he could never lose her again. He too had been afraid.
Tears welled in N’s eyes. Affectionately gazing at him, she reached into her pouch and drew out an Amulet of Mara of her own. Confessing her feelings, she told him she’d secretly asked Argis to find one for her so no one in the Guild would know.
Ultimately, her heart spoke without hesitation, without any doubt about whether she was good enough for him. Finally, she too told him everything she’d felt for years — just how deeply she loved him. (Author’s Note: This scene gives readers a beautiful, heartfelt wrap-up and leads into a romantic and detailed NSFW sequence which will get a separate document to read. ;) )
4E 199 — 1st Last Seed, late Morning - End of the Year:
To keep things from getting too long, since this condensed timeline has already grown quite hefty for most readers, the next chapters will focus on the wedding and a glimpse into their married life. Brynjolf and N marry at the Temple of Mara (10th Last Seed); the party goes on in nature, with the entire Guild celebrating. They moved into Honeyside together after purchasing the property. Dynamics also include how it all works with the Guild, what’s changed and what hasn’t, and so on. It'll also contain a few subtle hints towards Mercer and the later plot. This section of the timeline will be told through several smaller mini-chapters and short stories. It will continue to show their everyday life in the Guild, until we finally reach the year 201 — the year of the Dragon Crisis and the Dragonborn. (Age 25)
(This piece here might still need some work)
4E 201 — Goldenglow Estate. The "og" Thieves Guild and Nightingale questline begins. Mercer's second attempt to remove No One, attack in Snowveil Sanctum. (Age 25-27)
4E 201 — The Dovahkiin's events run parallel. Karliah returns. Mercer's betrayal is exposed. No One and Karliah work together, reveal all evidence to the Guild. Vault confirmed empty. Confrontation. Brynjolf and N take the oath, deciding to fulfil the trinity, protect the Guild, help Karliah and try to make amends for what Mercer's done. (Setting things right again) - Mercer's end. (Age 27)
Nightingale Trinity
https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:The_Nightingales_Vol._2
4E 201 onward — Karliah often brings word from the Twilight Sepulcher. She hopes to be reunited with Gallus in death. Brynjolf leads the Guild and becomes new Guild Master, Delvin will be his second hand. N will be the new "bard" of the Nightingales, helps Brynjolf to run the Guild and keep everything in check. She also raises her family (she's with a child now), continues to cook for the Guild and makes the Ragged Flagon a proper home again. So, N will turn into something like a caretaker for everyone, just like the friend in school who brought you an extra lunch, because they know you've forgotten yours. (Or like a mom, making sure you're well; or a lover taking care of you. She'll be a bit of an all-rounder regarding these things.) Ofc, still does casual jobs. And she and Brynjolf own Riftweald Manor.
Note: N won't be a literal bard; the title will be a metaphor for her "singing"—the art of gathering intelligence. Like a true Nightingale, she will "sing" crucial secrets back into the Guild's ears. She will accomplish this by shifting between various guises—the innocent flower-maiden, the traveling bard, the humble housewife, or the idle peasant—tricking marks into dropping their guard and loosening their tongues. At this point, N will be a max-level operative with every skill of her trade completely mastered. And it only took 20-something years! JK!! (meme reference: "It's been 84 years" - I tried to make a joke here, excuse me!)
