Executive dysfunction in a nutshell
This is me right now
Shane, 35
“Everything is thrifted: Kapital denim overall that's too big for me to wear as overalls, but work really well as denim chaps when cinched at the waist with my belt. The belt is made by myself. My jeans I found in a thrift shop with no name or tag attached – but clearly made with a lot of love. The top is a Kapital indigo dyed kimono jacket. The shoes are Onitsuka Tiger. I've been a preschool teacher for the last 5 years, and I take a lot of inspiration from the kids themselves and a little bit of Magic School Bus. I try to combine making fuctional wearable art with things that make the kids in my school smile and feel inspired to be a little weird and out there. I used to show up in suits and ties – and then one day one of my students showed up in a full Clifford outfit and it shook my core. What was I even doing, haha? So now I try to stretch imaginations with a lot of thrifted pieces or handmade things by my wife and I.”

formative years? aren’t they all?
So this one time I was in a hospital recovering from an emergency surgery on my leg, and had to be there long enough that they had to change my bedding, so, doped up on three kinds of pain meds and antibiotics my dad wheels me into the hallway while the nurses work.
"dad" I say, my eyes barely open "it's Colonel Sanders" while pointing down the hallway. He looks, and at the end of the hallway, there's a portrait of an old man, the donor who paid for the wing of the hospital I'm recovering in.
My dad explains as much to me, and goes "I mean the guy *kinda* looks like him, but why would Colonel Sanders pay for a hospital wing Mississauga Ontario? I think those drugs might me messing with you"
Then the nurse comes out of the room. I go "hey, who is that picture of?"
She looks at the portrait. She looks at me. She looks at my dad. She looks at the painting. She looks at me again.
"you don't recognize the Colonel??"
Then the nurse comes out
of the room. I go “hey, who
is that picture of?”
Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
With all due respect to this person’s dad, who the fuck else would that be??? 😂 There’s “he kinda looks like Colonel Sanders,” and then there’s “He’s wearing an all-white suit and a weird little black bow tie/bolo combo and serial-killer glasses and has the same facial hair that they always gave the devil in the 1950s … I may be doped up and an entire hallway away, but there’s only one person on planet Earth, past, present or future, who that could possibly be, and it’s Colonel Muhfuckin’ Sanders”
*can you tell that I may or may not be from Kentucky?

HIGH POTENTIAL 2.12 "The Faust and the Furious"
His hand on her shoulder and back sent me 😮💨 Just such a beautiful scene!
You know what’s insane? My brain. Because this one scene — this, like, 30 seconds of a TV show that I enjoy — single-handedly reignited my excitement for my own creative endeavors. Because I have so many scenes like this that I want to write, about characters as flawed and complex as these, and I want them to care as deeply about each other as these two do and to have their relationships develop just as slowly and steadily as theirs has. Because that makes moments like this one so meaningful. Inspired and inspiring!

the second eel at the end in its little cuck shelter 💜
eel deets from @whitefangthefightingwolf
Mostly reblogging this because “This is my friend you asshole” is a sentence I didn’t know I needed to read — but the whole post is 🥰
I’d also have fewer ideas, but maybe that’d be a good thing … I guess we’ll never know 💁♀️

High Potential S02 E12 - The Faust and the Furious Mirror neurons. It's just an unconscious empathetic breathing response. Like a yawn. Your breathing and your heart rate were calm. So you calmed mine down.
Thank you God for these gifs 🙏🙏🙏 I’m very behind on my shows and just saw this episode last night — immediately watched this scene about 10 times in a row because it’s so lovely and I wanted to clock all of the details. Thought “Shew, I hope someone on tumblr has made a gifset of this, because I’m gonna need it” 😅🥹 Bless you! And bless this sweet n slow burn!
You know what? That actually looks like a really good idea 💪
