Like why are you surprised that the site that was created specifically to host dark/taboo/fucked up fics—that were banned on pro censorship platforms—because the founders are proships who got tired of censorship, actually hosts and allows dark/taboo/fucked up fics that were banned on pro censorship platforms 😭 Your report will do nothing because AO3 EXPLICITLY ALLOWS AND WELCOMES DARK/TABOO/FUCKED UP FICS. AO3 IS THE PLATFORM THAT WAS CREATED FOR DARK/TABOO/FUCKED UP FICS.

Today's upload is a species chosen by the Repository's Patreon supporters! It's taken quite a while to get good serval photos, but it was worth the wait.

We need to talk for a second about context, before we get to more photos.

When I visited Project Survival Cat Haven last year, they were kind enough to give me the opportunity to get a bunch of the very active photos in this drop. I got a chance to observe and photograph an enrichment session between a staff member and the cat pictured. These shots were taken safely in a professional setting using a telephoto lens, and the only person who interacted with the serval was an experienced zookeeper with decades of history with felids.

This is a test run for these types of photos on the site. Please don't make it weird. I'm not here to encourage unsafe animal interactions or wild felids as pets.

the fic you don't like will not be removed. the author's account will not be terminated. the author in question might not ever even know that you've reported their fic, because ao3 only contacts authors if their works go against the terms of service- which do not prohibit any kind of written content.

the only reason ao3 might contact an author on the content of their fic is if 1) major content warnings like rape/non-con or underage are missing (and in this case ao3 will simply ask the author to add that content warning- the fic will not be taken down), or 2) the author is in some way attempting to monetise their fics or linking go fund mes etc. that's pretty much it.

it is an archive, not an algorithm, and censorship of any kind is not present. it is your responsibility as a reader to filter content you don't want to see, as it is the authors responsibility to tag their works correctly.
