A year ago I could breath physically and emotionally, I was safe for the first time in 9 years. Today I am hurting, and I long for my home on the beach, palm trees, and humidity that makes my lungs able to breath full and filled. My growth over the last year has been so quiet, but one thing hasn't changed, I long for home.

This is so weird. It’s such a weird feeling, that I’ve felt a handful of times before. Where it’s a celebrity you’re very aware of, have watched on television, etc. You knew who they were, grew up with them and such. And then they’re just…gone. You don’t want to believe it.

It’s not like you knew them at all. You didn’t know them. They weren’t family, weren’t a friend. Just someone who you knew of, knew their work, whatever. But it still hits you a little too hard.

My heart is just…broken.

Soft makeup for my older brothers wedding last weekend. I was reminded this weekend of words that have been on my heart lately

Growing up within a very Christian household these were words I heard often, but only recently have grown to fully understand. Regardless of religion, I believe this passage has changed my understanding of love.

- wearing that outfit/item of clothing you love to every social engagement you attend until either it needs a wash or you’re forced to change it so that people don’t think it’s the only thing you own

- watching the same film or episode of a show you like like until there’s no point in watching it again because you can vividly recall every scene in your head

- eating your favorite food until you’re so used to it that it’s tasteless and nauseating

- reading the same book until you can recite every line word for word from memory

-repeating the same word/phrase in response to everything until it stops being funny and starts getting annoying
