             A DEEP CHUCKLE escaped him following the joke, hands              settled firmly on the smaller males backside to hold him up.              before they slid up & his arms wrapped around the mages              torso, kiss deep; loving & intimate. anyone who knew chas              would tell you he was a sap, & an even bigger one when it              came to his dearest friend. pulling from this kiss, his nose              skimmed the others jaw, until he could press his lips to the              blonds neck.

                  “ jesus, chas, pullin’ out all the stops ‘ere, mate? “

            he’s touched, to be perfectly honest, but he’s gonna be             sarcastic & flippant anyway, as is his nature. still, a cocked             eyebrow adds a certain degree of softness to his expression             as he glances across the spread of makeshift festivities that             his best mate has set out for him, & he rattles the box experimentally.

       STUPID FUCKING FEELINGS. he may be a man        who prides himself on being in touch with those        squirrel-y little things - but not right now. not when        he's actually making a big effort to show john how        much he cares for him. sure, he'd always done that -        but it was usually a present that he knew the midget        shorter male needed; like a new tie or a spell book or        some new, rare ingredients for a spell.. but this time;        what lie in that box was a picture of them from their        younger years - all framed & laminated & whatnot.

      along with a special, autographed cd in a frame, the       cd's front held the signatures from every member of       john's favorite band. & thankfully, there was a t-shirt       stuffed in there too so the rattling won't harm anything.

                his protest jerks off in a yelp as he’s thrown over the bigger man’s                 shoulder like a bloody sack, being lugged away from the comfort                 of the couch without ceremony. he pounds on the cabbie’s back with                 his fists, pathetically aware of how weak his attempts at escape                 seem against the ease with which chas hauls him along. the smack                 on the arse just adds insult to injury.

                         “ chrissakes, geroff me, y’great sod! “  

              ' john, we have a time frame. our help is needed, you jerk.                  if you haven't realized - it's not exactly your choice; when                  demons & shit attack. besides, i won't be here to drive                  you in a few days. '

         HE DOESN'T SHOW a reaction to the weak pounding against his          back, it feels like a massage; to be brutally honest. & he knows          the slap was a bit too much. but really, he doesn't care. they have          a time frame & this job needs to be done & it needs to be done          NOW. renee asked him to come stay with geraldine for a bit, he          hasn't yet told john - even though the man knows that chas'          daughter is the one & only thing that matters MORE to him than          his friendship & loyalty to john -- he won't poke that proverbial bear,          'lest john start off on his tangent of how he believes renee regrets          the divorce. fat chance, she’s better off without him.
