Demons can possess people, right? Does that mean Gavin can theoretically possess someone? Can he "override" D'Deridahn's influence and save Blake?

Can y'all help me find a movie please?I don't think the title was long. I want to find out what scared me so bad. It's a possession movie. Can't remember much. It was in the 2010's I think. I remember the husband/dad of the family smearing shaving cream all over his face and smiling in the mirror in a creepy way (this scene was in the trailer too). Also near the end of the movie there's a brawl and the husband/dad is scared and doesn't want to hurt his wife (and kids? Can't remember if they had kids in the movie.) He's fighting the possession. He kills a black guy by shoving him against a hook( that you hang something on), on the stairs' railing or a place near the stairs and it's brown. His wife was pressing him about the hook earlier in the movie. Something about putting up or taking it down or something. The man he killed was an advisory or knew something about supernatural stuff( i think, or just a friend trying to help). This scene takes place in a house. That's all I can remember. I don't think it's 2012 Possession. I remember it scaring me so much. Please! 🙏
