The Sea and the Storm is now open for applications!

The sun shines on Bluffclan again. The grueling moons of winter are over, ushered away by a sun whose light now never leaves the sky. The snow that has clung onto the tundra has finally begun to melt away, clearing the path for Bluffclan's journey to their summer camp. In clan mythology, springs heralds growth and new beginnings. Flowers bloom, prey emerges. Prey and predator alike. The cats of the clan are not the only inhabitants of the tundra, nor are they the only ones who see the sun's light as a symbol of growth. The wolves and bears have young to feed, and the clan is direct competition. Bluffclan has been given two choices -- get out of the way, or find themselves caught between a predator's jaws. Hungry and afraid, the clan turns to nonexistent authority. Lynxstar does what she can to keep the clan together, but even best laid plans often go awry. Her leadership is in its infancy still; many of Bluffclan's senior members cannot reconcile with the fact their future lies in her paws now. The sun shines on Bluffclan again. Does it beckon a new dawn, or is it the last sunrise the cats of the tundra will ever bear witness to?

Faced with an empty council and predators snapping at their heels, Bluffclan survives on instinct alone. Many have decided to flee, families split as some leave for safer lands. Others still choose to fight, lashing out at the world with fury that cannot be taken from them. Most remain frozen and panicked, paralyzed with fear by the cruel hand of nature.

Their story is in your hands now. Tread with caution -- danger lurks around every corner, and the wrong pawstep could spell disaster.

"You don't know what real fear is," the young warrior said, suddenly more serious in tone than they had been in the story-telling conversation. "You haven't gotten your full names yet and you think you know. I've never seen it, but my great grandparents did. On the ice fields." The young warrior stared into the eyes of the apprentices gathered around them before continuing. "They said you could feel its pawsteps from a hundred tail-lengths away. That you could hear it calling as if it was right beside you. One even said they saw the red stain of blood on its claws, permanent," the warrior raised their own paw, flexing their claws for emphasis. "Do you even know what it means when you see it? Would you even know what to do? The white bear is no myth--it's real. And whatever toll it brings with it is equally real." The young warrior leaned in closer. "The farthest reaches of our territory are not for the foolish. Would you survive being faced with your fate, confronted with the harbinger of the future, not-yet-passed?"

Bluffclan are no strangers to sharing their home with large predators, but there is none more mystical and striking than the white bear. To many, the white bear foretells great tragedy. Whether said tragedy is unavoidable or has already been written into fate cannot be discerned. 

Bluffclan largely believes that the ancestors of their clans reside loosely in the sky; the stars; and in the air around them, having no specific realm to exist in. Their spirits watch the clan and the world around them. If there’s a world of their own to reside in, it is something unknown to the living. Cats are only able to meet with their ancestors under specific conditions, in locations where the sky is able to touch the earth. The tallest mountains; bottomless lakes; wide open grassland where it is only you, the earth, and the sky; and a shallow cave where the long-since rotted bones of a mother and child are exposed to stale air. The infinite pool and the star lakes are the only two easily accessible spots for cats to visit and attempt to communicate with their ancestors. Grieving cats may travel to these locations to receive comfort and assurance that their loved ones have made it to their afterlife, though the dreams in these locations aren’t always exactly what one might want, and cats may leave feeling more lost than before.

The tundra has eyes. Eyes and ears, fangs and claws — and the tundra is hungry. Cycles of impertinent overhunting from the cats of Bluffclan has left the land starved, devoid of prey populations that once sustained the entire food chain. Predators that once lived in relative peace are now left fighting for scraps, and Bluffclan finds themselves suddenly on the menu. It has been little over half a Cycle since Lynxstar's ascent to leadership, and even her best attempts to restore the land have not had enough time to take effect. The harsh winter has wiped out the Council with no time to elect replacements. Cats leave Bluffclan in droves, searching for safety for their families that the clan can no longer provide. Predators push at clan borders, hungry and unchallenged, bolder than they have ever been. The time of clans may finally be coming to an end.

Hello everyone! Firstly, we want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has shown interest in this group and its future. The positive comments we've received really mean a lot! We promise that we are just as excited about our first opening as you all are <3

Before we are able to open for members, we are looking to expand our staff team. We are looking for 2 to 3 additional Admins and 1 to 2 Chat Mods. You can read about the expectations of and differences between our staff roles here! We're looking for people who are interested in creating a space that is positive and engaging for everyone. If you are interested in shaping a story with other people and fostering a community, this might be the right place for you!

Don't let the amount of pre-existing worldbuilding we have intimidate you! We would love for new additions to the team to make their mark upon the lore and server; we're all excited to see what new ideas might be introduced to our world.

The Sea and the Storm (abbreviated TSatS) is an 18+ Warrior Cats-inspired roleplay run over discord. The Sea and the Storm follows the cats of a singular clan, Bluffclan, located on the coast of Alaska, as they struggle to survive in the unforgiving environment. In this roleplay, the main challenges faced by the clan do not come from other clowders, but instead from other predators who are equally desperate to thrive in the territory they call home.

This story is just beginning, and it's up to you to decide where it goes..... keep an eye out for future news regarding mod and player openings!
