My family has a great way of distinguishing between a new spouse you like and new spouse you disdain!
Your mom/aunt/grandma/etc remarries and they are actually a cool person, you use their first name. So if you were to introduce them they would be: Aunt Jane and Bob.
If your mom/aunt/grandma/etc remarries and they are a fuckwad you introduce them as: this is Aunt Jane and her second husband. The implication being that they are very replaceable and that we’re all just waiting for her to wise up to the situation and serve you divorce papers, she did it once, she can do it again.
In hindsight being a “gifted kid” is so funny. You have substantial difficulties with socializing and fine motor skills, but we’re going to ignore that because you’re really good at reading chapter books

I hope this helps anyone who's trying to design their oc using a wheelchair, it's not a complete guide but I tried my best! deffo do more research if you're writing them as a character
the little freak came from a hoarding situation so no one knows exactly how old she is. before finding out her age, Frankie thought she was still quite young due to how much energy she had (constantly acting like a terror & stealing her prosthetic)
for quality of life reasons, Frankie was advised to evolve Tripod despite her advanced age. she also gets the pokemon version of solensia shots every month so joint pain begone
eevee usually live 20-25 years if they have a trainer, with some reaching 30 on occasion. their evolutions consistently live around 40-45 years, making Tripod a bit of a special case here
Things I'd like to see more with siblings in media:
The siblings being their own people. As much as I like the concept of characters who emulate a sort-of tropey dynamic because that's the point of them (especially twins), I would like to see more media where the siblings are separate people while still being related and associated closely with each other.
Actually loving each other. Please, not another story where they hate each other for no reason. Siblings are family too, and nobody said family are supposed to hate each other. (But if you want them to hate each other, especially for good reason, go ahead).
A lack of "bro" and "sis" nicknames. Yes, you can include characters who call each other "brother" or "sister", because that's something people actually do. But in the case of Western-ish media, I don't really wanna see another sibling duo/group just refer to each other as Bro and Sis, as if that specifically is all that siblings call each other. It's just a matter of being more creative.
A dynamic relationship that changes over time. This is a little random, I feel, but growing up with my siblings was closer to what Hollywood thinks all siblings are. We used to argue all the time about stupid things, get close to pulling each other's hair, that kind of stuff. But after enough Parental Lessons™, we snapped out of it and our dynamic is much calmer now. We still occasionally butt heads, but we don't act like we're supposed to hate each other.
Varying relationships. Despite everything I said, Hollywood siblings aren't 100% fake. But that doesn't mean that most real-life siblings are fake. Sibling dynamics vary, just like any kind of relationship. So it helps to have different kinds of dynamics between siblings in media, if you have multiple sibling groups in a story of yours.
Basically, don't treat siblings like a cliché (90% of the time). Siblings can have loving relationships, horrible relationships, tense and complicated relationships, or even a neutral relationship. They can be joined at the hip or distant and disconnected. They can call each other "bro", "sis", "brother", "sister", "dunderhead", or a cute nickname. You can make them act a little like a trope or act closer to real-life siblings. Happy writing.

We always talk about how Stratt is haunted by Grace's screams and cries at night, but what about Carl?
Carl, the guy Grace built an entire hypothesis around.
Carl, the guy that learned to have fun with Grace while doing science.
Carl, the guy that fueled Grace's addiction to Skittles and Twizzlers.
Carl, the guy that was there every step of the way until the end. And then he was forced to stand by and watch as Grace was pinned to the ground, pleading for help, calling for him of all people.
I'm willing to bet Carl is kept awake just as much as Stratt was if not more so, utterly tortured by what he'd done to Grace.
