This is going to be such an interesting event, unique in fact!. It features singer/pianist Mala Waldron...who is god-daughter of Billie Holiday. AND, her father was Holiday's last piano player!

If that's not enough, the inimitable polymathic author, Paul Alexander will read from his recent book about Holiday's Bitter Crop: The Heartache and Triumph of Billie Holiday's Last Year.

He will also interview Mala Waldron so expect surprises. We may not know what we think we know, especially when it comes to legends!

I’m especially excited about this gig Friday June 8th at the cell theatre in Chelsea. It’s a neat little theatre and special to me since Cassandra, a collaboration with my composer father, was performed there. It was also the venue for his memorial late last year.

And it’s always exciting and fun to read alongside the fabulous Dublin-born singer/composer Christine Tobin. In fact, this is a return gig for us at the cell. The evening features her collaborator/partner, the renowned guitarist Phil Robson, along with bassist Mark Lewandowski.

We'll be presenting some numbers performed at King's Place in London as part of Christine's recent major UK tour. She’s known for setting poems bu W.B. Yeats and Paul Muldoon….and me too, so I’m in good company. I hope you will be too!

If you're in in Southampton (UK!) on February 1st, I’ll be reading alongside the fabulous Dublin-born singer/composer Christine Tobin and equally fabulous guitarist Phil Robson. The gig is part of their tour of Christine’s CD, Pelt, featuring poems by Paul Muldoon. 

This is a reading talk at King Hooper Mansion in Marblehead Mass. USA, right near to Salem. So you can go check out witches too. It’s a lovely little town. I love New England. It sparks some mysterious kind of nostalgia. For a place I never lived. I don’t know who Hooper was and aim to find out.

I’m giving a reading on December 16th, at An Beal Bocht alongside the wonderful Dublin singer Christine  Tobin and equally wonderful guitarist Phil Robson.

And on December 22nd I’m reading at the Cornelia Street Cafe alongside the wonderful poets Elizabeth Macklin, Mary Stewart Hammond and Erin Lynn.

And, no, not everyone or everything is “wonderful”. We especially understand that now. This is why we need more poetry and music so please come along.

Am teaching this at Poetry School starting Sept. 25th. For years people have asked when I'm teaching again in London.
