It's been a little over one year since I got into POW.

Thank you, Apo and Owen, for the lovely series and for allowing me to meet new creators I hadn't seen before.

So I have seen people talking about a comment Shirahama made in an interview where someone asked if she knew the ending to Witch Hat Atelier already. She said yes, and that it would involve Coco choosing between two options. This is a vague statement that could mean literally anything, but many have theorized that it could be a choice between choosing to save either her mom or Qifrey. This theory has some potential, and it absolutely feels like something that Shirahama would do. Though some fear this theory would lead to only one of them being saved, and thus the other would be stuck in their cursed state forever. I have another idea that keeps this theory while also giving everyone a happy ending that sticks to previous character motivations and story arcs.

So let's say that Coco has to choose between unpetrifying her mom or removing the silverwood from Qifrey (and in this instance, also eventually Custas and Ininia as well). This would cause her to lose her mind. All she wants to do is save two people she loves, but she is forced to pick one. I think she would struggle to pick between the person who raised her in her early years and the man who saved her and took her in. I think a way that would save both of them is if, in her panic and frustration of having to choose, Olruggio arrives and tells her that she can go save her mom, like she has always wanted to. This means he will go save Qifrey.

By this point, I imagine that he would have regained most of his memories or has at least learned about what happened in most of them. This would be his chance to fulfill his goal of rescuing Qifrey from the curse and take away Coco's burden of having to choose. Something she already has to do all the time. I think it would give both of them a good wrap-up to their original goals and give the story two triumphant moments that would be beautiful and cathartic.

I finally watched episodes 1 & 2.
