WIP - POSTCARD
Just mock-ups for now, as always, but new project!
āĖāæ cruel summer skin āæĖā
hiya!! i've decided, because of hard times atm, to put my skin cruel summer up for sale. <;3
this colorful, trendy, fully responsive skin is up for sale for unlimited sales.
it includes: āæ a full set of html templates āæ light/dark toggle āæ a full quality set of dohtml templates (comms, threads, requests, social media, threads, development, general, face claim/reserves, and bbcodes) āæ a guidebook with 7 fully coded webpages āæ isotope member list āæ a profile app that includes a fun freeform section with profile codes āæ and more!
upon purchase you will receive all files with an installation guide and an abundance of notes within the codes. more information can be found on my policies page, and i request these be read before purchase: click me!!
ohhhh so you make graphics or do some kind of web design? what if i told you about some webbed sites that could help you with that?
pigment.shapefactory ā generates pantone duotone palettes and allows you to play with saturation/light levels. offers hex codes, even!
coolors.co ā generates color palettes very easily; you can lock colors, adjust the hue, and even see what your palette may look for different types of color blindness.
unsplash ā free public domain stock images. i love using this for patterns and textures.
behance.net ā great for finding assets (both free, premium, commercial use, personal use, just read the terms) and my go to place for inspo. fonts, textures, patterns, stock, galore!!!
toools.design ā a huge archive of design resources including icons, mockups, typography, etc. and clearly states which resources are free or paid!
colourcontrast.cc ā interactive site that allows you to test your contrast for accessibility.
Coming back to this WIP skin, and it's amazing looking at the code. I've learnt so much this year! It shows even in the little things, like the amount of CSS shorthand I use. But I've got to say I am still very much vibing with the contained feel of this skin. Especially with the header on the header on mobile. I need to stick a new avatar in, though. Alas, the old one disappeared when nickpic went down.
I'm thinking of dusting off the code and selling the skin as a multi-sale. Would anyone be interested? I'm definitely going to overhaul the forum row and board stats, though. I've got a much clearer idea of how I want them to look now. Anyway, it's a fun little side project.

Does anyone have any free online resources for at least starting to teach yourself to code? I obviously have no illusions that I will become a badass tech bro from the get-go, but I wanna check if I am still as un-predisposed to it as I remember from my youth. In case there's an off-chance I am not too humanities-brained for that, after all. I love my current field, I love being an English major, but every day, I feel less and less respected or needed, especially when it comes to decent job offers, so I am growing desperate.
Coding Resources | Resources āØ
There are loadddddsssss of resources to help you! Free ones too! It really all depends what do you want to code in.
Find your niche
Choosing a programming path depends on various factors, including your interests, skills, career goals, and the specific domain you want to specialize in. I know someone who started by trying a bit of everything then chose one, which was Game Development. Can't decide which route to go into?:
What are your interests? That helps niche down to a specific programming route
Looking for a job in it, look at your local job market and see what they're asking for in skills the most - some places want more Python developers whilst other places want more C# developers!

I've been on vacation but finally got back to this & to keep myself accountable I'm posting this update even if It's only one view, it is a fairly intricate work of a mockup. This is the default desktop post view for an IC account, the OOC will simply have some elements changed slightly, not enough to need a variant made.
That's all for now, next I'm working on the profiles <3
Post row + mini-profile of a personal hp-themed site I'm working on :)

STARTING POINT
When I made this sideblog, it was mainly to have a sort of a digital diary to track my learning progress. I thought it'd be a just me and my few mutuals in here. But to my surprise, the introduction post received a warm welcome from the Studyblr and Codeblr communities! š Thank you so much for the support. I'm really excited to get started on this journey.
1/100 days of code, 250523
ā CSS Frameworks: Bootstrap
A few weeks ago, I bought a web development course on Udemy. I made some progress, but I wasn't getting consistent in my learning.
So, to fix that, I decided to take part in the famous challenge.
āØ100 days of code āØ
Boy! One hundred days! Just the sound of it is frightening.
But I'm determined to give it a solid shot.
My plan for these coming months is to learn coding every day for at least 90 minutes.
In the real world, I'm a user experience and interface designer, and hopefully by the end of this challenge, I'll be able to bring some of my designs to life with code.
Resources that I'm using :
Colt Steele' web development course ( Udemy )
Web Design with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery ( Book set )
The odin project ( Website )
Kevin PowellĀ ( Youtube )
Web Dev Simplified ( Youtube )
I come across a great site to learn coding, I donāt see a lot of people talking about it tho. (There is an app too!)
This site has python 101 for free (and many another, tho course from 102 and up arenāt free)
Its has a cute design and great at explaining the small details that some teachers donāt explain āØ
There is also many exercises in each chapter of the lessons.
You can check more about it from there official site āØ
Progate is an online platform to learn programming. Learn to build your own apps and services.
Happy coding you all š«¶š»

I am literally one of the laziest people with making backgrounds - either manually or looking for a good image, so I looked online for some generators and thought I would share them here!
