“Gods. Does that mean we have to hang out again?” She rolled her eyes, but couldn’t force herself to actually seem annoyed by the prospect. As much as she hated to admit it, she was actually sort of having fun with Vi. She wasn’t naive enough to think that she could handle all of what the Dionysus house had to offer, but maybe hanging out with Vi again wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. She was easy to talk to, at least, and the kind of magnetic person Carly had always envied. “Right, I’ve heard plenty about the dabbling, and to be honest, I don’t think I could handle it. Sorry,” she tacked on at the end, a little half-heartedly. The phrase daddy issues mad her giggle a little to herself, if only because she’d had similar thoughts in regards to her mother. “Yeah, I get that. I don’t know why they all go around having these kids when they don’t actually know the first thing about being parents.” She should bite her tongue. She was edging dangerously close to retribution-from-the-heavens territory.

virginia: i'm sorry, i just don't know what to say except that? but we both know those words hold very little meaning right now. but i am, i am sorry.

virginia: i should have told you i was leaving, i just didn't want to ruin things.

virginia: you don't think i care? theo, the only reason i left was because i care. none of what i've done has been fair to you and staying, pretending everything was fine, that wouldn't have been right. do you know how nice it would have been to actually stay? you don't think i wanted to?

teddy: so i guess "im getting something to drink" stood for im leaving...

teddy: im such a fucking idiot lol

teddy: hey, maybe next time you decide to fuck me on my birthday, maybe you can just give me a heads up that you're also going to fuck me OVER in the same time frame.

teddy: just a thought.

virginia always felt like a reliable source for lilly to seek advice, and she desperately needed reliable after her so-called therapist turned out to be a monster in disguise. between the ice cream and catching up, it was almost enough to keep her from thinking about the advice she’d initially knocked on the dionysus door for. and she’s desperately hoping there’s a way to continue to avoid that conversation, despite the anxiety and guilt she’s built inside her own head. her head cocks to the side in confusion from virginia’s words, any deeper and less PG connotation going right over the daughter of poseidon’s head. ❝ like a sleepover ? i mean, you don’t have to apologize for having a sleepover with teddy, that sounds nice anyway. ❞ she shrugs mindlessly. if his name was any indicitation, lilly assumed that he was much like that of a teddy bear, and thus perfect for a sleepover ― though the thought only brought her back to the spiraling guilt, that he’d hate her for disappearing without an explanation. truth be told, lilly hadn’t fully come to terms with her feelings towards teddy and while her monster of a therapist had helped more than expected from a monster, it was partially why she came to virginia in the first place.

a sleepover ? lilly’s words ring in her mind for a moment as she sits in confusion. it was definitely nice but it was most certainly not that kind of sleepover. virginia remains silent, letting the wave of stillness fill the air, not knowing how to respond. hazel eyes meet lilly’s as she blinks at her, lips parting agape as no words come out. she’s drawing a blank, struggling on how to say it without stating the obvious. “no, lilly, that’s not―” she clears her throat awkwardly, “that’s not what i meant.” of course the universe would have her suffer this way, not that she didn’t deserve it. it was her own doing that put her in this situation which could easily be a lot worse but regardless still felt uncomfortable. “we had sex.” there, she said it, finding no other words to explain to lilly what had happened.  her gaze drops from lilly to the tub of ice cream as she starts picking at it with her spoon. she’s thankful for the distraction in her hands, being able to focus on something else other than lilly’s reaction. the guilt of that causing her to look away from her.

            IT WAS A BAD CALL, on both of their parts, and deep down they knew that yet here they were. tangled in sheets, and teddy was sleeping just fine, he’d always been a rather great sleeper despite his endless energy. but with virginia’s head on his chest, the smell of her shampoo being the scent that lulled him off to slumber, he felt this comfort wash over him. he didn’t know what to expect whenever he woke up in the morning, there was this small pathetic shred of hope still clinging on that they could work this out, but realistically he knew that wasn’t the case. but right now, with her curled up in bed beside him and sleeping, well….he was okay with this moment. heavy sleeping aside, whenever there was a bump to his bed, he felt his eyes flutter open. it was dark, a shadow-like figure hobbling around, and the missing warmth of virginia was enough for even the sleepy son of zeus to piece together, “vi?” he mumbled out, voice worn with sleep as he sat up a bit and reached over to turn on the soft-dimmed glow of his lamp, squinting as he looked at her, “what’re you doin’ up?” teddy questioned as he scratched the back of his messy hair, all over the place from prior events of the evening, yawning as he motioned to the bed, “c’mon….” he wasn’t whining, or begging, more-so half awake and calling her back as if this was okay. as if this was normal, old times, when she would wake up in the middle of the night worried over something she couldn’t pin point, and he would comfort her time and time again. it’s reflexive, hardwired into his brain even if the program was now expired.

fuck . teddy’s voice stops her dead in her tracks as she relaxes her composure as he turns on the lamp. hazel eyes fall on the sleepy boy and she can’t help but feel a pang in her chest knowing what she’s about to do. his question throwing her off guard for half a second though the calm in her features never cracks. instead, she smiles at him, blurting out the first lie that pops into her mind. “oh, i’m just thirsty,” she says casually, “i was gonna go to the kitchen real quick to grab a glass of water.” eyes shift back onto the bed as he motions to her and she can’t help but walk toward him as if he has a pull on her that draws her back. she kneels onto the bed, a hand on his chest as her lips fall back onto him giving him a soft kiss. eyes close as she tries to save this as the last happy memory with him, knowing that the moment she walks out the door, there’s no going back. a sad smile creeps it’s way onto her face, threatening the facade of everything being alright as she meets his eyes. she didn’t want to leave, everything in her screamed to get back into his bed and into the safety of his arms. except the guilt of it all felt overwhelming, causing her to run yet again. she didn’t regret it, despite how much of a bad idea it had been, but she knew he deserved better. it was as selfish as it was selfless, at least that’s what she kept telling herself. “go back to sleep, i’ll be right back,” she assures him. no, she won’t but she sure hopes he won’t realize that until morning comes. a small sigh leaves her lips as keeps her gaze on him for a second longer before turning toward the door.

At the sight of Virginia emerging from the curtains, Mitsuki can’t help but show the brightest of smiles– not that a smile wasn’t on her face already as she threw little pebbles at the window. Oh she loved Virginia so much and that may or may not have a lot to do with the girl’s dramatics!! “But it’s not broken, thank my precise movements and calculations for it”. She grins and the sight of it usually means bad news… but it also announces the sort of bad news you can’t really make yourself walk away from. “Get in, get in!” She says in a slightly higher pitched tone with her eyes on the path before Dionysisus’ house. Mitsuki gives Virginia exactly one second before pushing her inside and crawling through the window and into the room herself. dusting off the black jeans and taking off her hot pink sweater, Mitsuki takes a turn on the room, her eyes going directly to the ceiling and the light source as she does a slow spin. “Oh my little Ginny, I may not be an expert of shakespearean literature but, I’m pretty sure Romeo’s famous line isn’t oh Juliet, Juliet, where are you Juliet?” She lets out a giggle, wild eyes meeting hers, “Plus, I think you’d make a very pretty Romeo”.

watching mitsuki’s reaction upon seeing her only brought an equal type of grin onto her lips. the girl was definitely interesting to say the least, virginia never actually been able to figure her out though it didn’t mean she didn’t enjoy her company or attention any less. “that’s called getting lucky, mitsuki, i wouldn’t go and try out for the softball team just yet,” she teases. “get in?” the question barely leaves her lips before she feels herself being pushed back into her room, laughter leaving her lips as she makes her way back in. “suuuuuki!” tone in melodramatic shock as if mitsuki had done something actually appalling and not just pushed her back through her window. hazel eyes focus on the girl giving her a once over before shaking her head. “no, it’s definitely not, but i don’t want to be romeo,” she pouts. hands placed on her hips as a foot stomps on the ground for dramatic measure. her gaze meets mitsuki’s as she starts to smile. “you think so?” the reluctance to be cast as romero leaving her as soon as the other mentioned the word pretty.

“ ugh , what for ? ” he continues to groan , unable to see the wisdom in her words, the bigger picture but a distant memory to him. her question does make him think, and he takes his time pondering if there really was anything he felt like looking forward to. heaving a sigh, he all but shakes his head, unable to come up with a fulfilling answer. as a son and a brother, he could look forward to spending time with his family again. gods know it’s been a while since they were all together in one place, but he doubts they would be again for at least a couple more months. as hephaestus’ son, he could look forward to creating, forging, new things, if not just improving on his creations yet again, though that felt more work without inspiration. as a man, he could look forward to finally getting laid after days, weeks, perhaps even months of unintended celibacy, though a part of him didn’t really think that was much of anything, considering he does have a hand and a stable Internet connection. “fine.” he heaves a sigh, finally admitting defeat, unwilling to prolong this agony any further. “do what you want with me, vi. it’s not like i’m doing a better job myself anyway.”

she sighs , his reluctance threatening to damper her mood but if virginia was anything, it was determined. one way or another, she was going to get ved out of the hades’ house and into so well needed sunlight. “i already told you,” she exasperates, a small frown falling on her lips. he truly was trying to give her a run for her money. “fine?” she repeats, somewhat dubious at how fast his mind seemed to change. don’t question it, stupid. she’s silently thankful that he finally gave, the somewhat frustrated expression on her face turning into glee. “perfect! c’mon, vamos!” she claps her hands together, trying to encourage him to get going. “i promise you, you won’t regret this. after we’re doing you’re going to feel so much better - pinky promise!” she looks at him, pinky reaching out assure him of how serious she was.

He only gives the girl a knowing look that both speaks loud and clear…. all while not actually speaking at all. Nothing to commit to of words have not been exchanged, if they have not been written and signed. a nice a easy way to really get any emotional responsibility off his back– such as the one the girl before can be very well capable of displaying. He offers the price with a wide smile and a vow, ( he rather likes the sound of the word hero ) and once it’s out of his hands, Nicolai offers his arm with that charm of his and a tilt of her head “Shall we?”

the smile on her face grows wider as he looks at her , giving him a small nod. while she preferred him actually saying it, she did understand perfectly what he meant. though it didn’t make the chase of things any less frustrating when he teased her like that. it didn’t mean she was going to back down either ― the more he made her chase, the more determined she was to get her way. hazel eyes meet his gaze at she takes his arm. “please, lead the way.”

“You can take offense to it. I wasn’t saying it to be nice.” She was surprising herself with her words, the teasing edge something new. It felt as though she and Vi were walking a tightrope on the edge of something dangerous, but what it was, she didn’t fully understand yet. All she was really aware of was the the Dionysus house and most of the people who lived there brought out a side of her that she was still getting to know. “Yeah. I don’t know. It was…crazy. But that’s your thing, right? Chaos, ecstasy? It wasn’t like it was unexpected.” She shot a sidelong glance at Vi, happy for the distraction. She didn’t want to get into her uncharacteristic experimentation with hallucinogenic materials, so she eagerly jumped on the change in topic to avoid explaining her interactions with Dax. “Am I prying if I ask what the gods ever did to you to deserve that? Not that I disagree.”

“fine. full offense taken, which means you’ll have to make it up to me somehow.” there’s a playful smirk on her face as she teases her. she has no idea if they’re actually at a point where vi can say that but considering the stuffed animal she managed to get out of carly, she feels confident in her choice of words. “well, duh!” she stresses, “sounds like it. i mean, i guess? technically, it’s my father’s thing. he’s the god of chaos and ecstasy.” she blames dumb, an air of innocence in her voice, “so really, he’s the master at chaos — we just sort of dabble in it. occasionally.” there’s a mischievous glint in her eye at she shoots her a quick wink. she pretends to ponder carly’s question, lips pursing together as she nods slowly. “you are,” she smirks, “but that doesn’t mean i won’t tell you.” the question being far too complicated for vi to want to explain in the middle of the carnival, so instead she gives her a side glance, as nonchalant as ever as laughter follows her answer, “daddy issues.”which was true, virginia’s issue with the gods mainly started and ended with dionysus. the rest of them were mainly an afterthought, except maybe carly’s own mother. aphrodite being a goddess virginia held a deep amount of admiration towards.

a dramatic sigh leaves vi’s lips as a small pout forms on her lips, hazel eyes falling onto the tub of ice cream in her hand before taking an exaggerated spoonful and bringing it to her mouth, letting the frozen sweet melt on her tongue. hazel eyes move to lilly as a smile forms on her lips. they’d been locked in vi’s room for hours and yet it seemed like there wasn’t enough time in the world for the two to catch up in the time lilly had been gone. catching the other up with what had happened in the time they’d been apart, there was only one topic that they hadn’t talked about ― the golden boy who they both managed to hurt. she knows she can’t avoid it, especially since lilly had reached out asking for advice. “i’m sorry for sleeping with teddy when i knew you had feelings for him.” the words leave her lips faster than she was able to rationalize if that was the appropriate thing to say. it was the truth, nonetheless. she had known how lilly had felt about him. encouraged her even, thinking that her own feelings for the son of zeus were well in the past. of course, that all came crashing down on the day of the carnival and virginia was left cleaning up her mess left and right. one she still wasn’t able to fix with teddy but at least she knew she could with lilly, despite how much she didn’t want to talk about it.

› 01. what’s your muse’s favorite piece of clothing in their wardrobe?

the old hollywood robe — in true vi fashion (pun totally intended), she loves lounging around the dio house in what she calls her widow robe. it’s obnoxious, she’s more than aware and actually embraces it, but there’s something about it that makes her feel absolutely powerful.

› 02. what are your muse’s favorite colors to wear?

mainly softer colors with the occasional darker tone. her color palette definitely goes by season though. the softer, more pastel type tones, are what she usually wears in the summer and spring - light yellow, sky blue, champagne, etc. during the fall and winter, she’ll wear more muted ones - olive green, navy blue, burgandy, etc. she’s not a big fan of wearing black, with the occasional dress or skirt, but mainly sticks with it on her shoe choices having a pair of knee high boots and various types of high heels.

› 03. do they prefer summer clothing or winter clothing?

summer, all the way! she finds winter clothing a lot more restrictive and isn’t a fan of having to keep warm by wearing so many layers. she loves the versatility that summer offers, allowing her to wear as much or as little as she wants. you can easily find her in a bralette and tulle type skirt in the summer, whereas in the winter, she’s more than likely in a long sleeve, mini skirt, and thigh high boots.

› 04. how has their wardrobe evolved over the years?

it’s definitely become very feminine and almost delicate? she loves wearing lace and tulle, also a big fan of corset type tops. she prefers wearing colors that fall on the softer side of the color palette: baby blue, blush pink, beige, mint green, ivory, etc. one very specific and important thing to note is her refusal of wearing jeans/pants. the only time you’ll see her in something other than a skirt or dress is at rehearsals or dance practice, which is usually leggings. you will not find a pair of jeans in her closet. same thing goes with shoes, you’ll always find her in some type of heel if she’s not required to wear tennis shoes - this though, is more to make up for her lack of height. she’s also incorporated a lot more pieces that she’s created as well, so usually, you’ll find her wearing something that she made. while she’s always been extremely feminine, she’s definitely embraced more of it now. her wardrobe now is very much what she dreamed of having when she was younger - it’s like her best attempt at feeling/dressing like a princess without overdoing it? except she’s totally overdoing it. but yeah, i guess short answer to this - she doesn’t wear jeans anymore and owns a lot more lace and tulle crap.

› 05. do they have any style icons or anything else they’re inspired by?

her broke ass really said i love the greats — elie saab, chanel, giambattista valli, dior, alexander mcqueen. basically, anything designer is what she’s inspired by.

› 06. do they like to accessorize? if so, what do they usually wear?

yes, she’s all about accessories! she usually pretty much sticks to jewelry and hair pieces. you’ll always find her wearing some type of earrings, whether it’s hoops or studs, dangling earrings if she’s feeling fancy. mainly all of her jewelry is gold tone with the occasional silver. she wears a lot of dainty things. her favorite piece of jewelry is a gold bracelet with her name she got for christmas one year. it’s easily her most prized possession. you’ll never see her with it off. then, there’s the hair accessories. you’ll almost always find her with something in her hair, no matter how she’s wearing it. headbands, barrettes, bows, etc. she’s usually have some type of headband if she’s wearing it down, a la blair waldorf, but will usually have a bow or ribbon if it’s tied up or a cute clip if it’s in braids or a bun.

› 07. where do they usually shop? specific stores, a specific kind of store (ie. thrift store vs designer), or do they make their own?

          AT THIS POINT, IT almost feels as if a weight had been lifted off his broad shoulders, all the words he’d wanted to say that had been building up inside of him came tumbling down like a tower. some sort of closure, in some sense, even if it was muddled with confusion. small talk about his family, something so comforting, littered in the midst of tears and confessions. it somehow fit, they somehow made it work, and it was only proof that in some sense they were meant to be a part of one another’s life’s. maybe not as lovers, but teddy knew that no matter what, virginia was always going to be a part of him. a shareholder in his massive heart, she stamped her name in permanent ink. kissing her was vaguely familiar at first until it barreled through him like an inferno, memories and hormones hitting him like a semi-truck. it only caused him to pull her closer, the need to be like this overwhelming any common sense he may have had left in him (which, to be fair, wasn’t a lot to begin with). teddy didn’t want to break apart, he didn’t want to think about if this was a good decision or not, he just wanted her…no, he needed her. that missing piece fitting back perfect as her lips pushed to his in a fire that he didn’t even know still lived inside of him, “fuck, i missed you.” he whispered against her lips, because it was the truth, unfiltered as it left his mouth and he used the hands on her waist to pull at her shirt and only momentarily leave her to get it out of the way. when he got like this, hot and bothered, he tended to drive with full speed. scooping her up in a swift movement to move backward a little more until they collapsed onto his bed.
