Judith: Lemme axe you sumthin', man. You think you can change my diaper? You think you man enough to do that in front uh Carl?

Judith: I was inside Lori for nine months. Nine months, Rick. You couldn't even last inside her for nine seconds, man.

Judith: I'm a better baby than you ever were, Rick.

It’s been 11 days since Cas came back from the big empty.

Dean was heading out with Eileen to fix her car that broke down along the way while Cas and Sam stayed back to test out another theory to help separate Jack from Amara again. He wasn’t going to be gone longer than an hour, he was also going to pick up dinner with Eileen, but it would be the longest he would be separated from Cas since he came back. They both knew it but Cas couldn’t leave Jack right now and Sam was the only witch in the family who can properly do the spell so Dean had to leave.

Cas slowly walked Dean to the garage, shoulders bumping the whole quiet walk over before they stopped in front of the driver side door.

“I’ll be back soon.” Dean has told him this already but it was reassuring, even to himself, to say it again. “I’ll get you some new food you can try.”

Cas smiled, it was small and sad but his eyes were still warm, while he gave a stiff nod.

Dean hasn’t said bye to Cas, they always sucked at that, so he wasn’t sure what to do. Should he go in for a hug? A usual safe pat on the shoulder?

Dean cleared his throat before opening his car door. “Um, okay, I’ll just-”

“Dean?” Dean turned to look back at Cas, humming in response. Cas looked at him for a solid three seconds before shaking his head and looking away. “Never mind. Have a safe trip.”

Cas started to turn to walk away but Dean grabbed his arm to keep him from leaving. “Dude, what is it?”

“It’s stupid.”

Cas looked down at the ground but didn’t pull away from Dean’s grip. He sighed when Dean didn’t respond but instead waited for Cas to continue.

Cas turned back to look at Dean, eyes soft and a warm half-smile. “Can I… Can I ask for a kiss?” Cas cleared his throat before he looked back down at the ground. “I’ve seen Eileen and Sam give each other goodbye kisses and I was just wondering if I could - if we could also, maybe, try that sometime?”

Dean cracked a smile even if his heart was racing hard against his ribs. “You haven’t left my side since you’ve been back so goodbye kisses are kinda hard for us.”

“That’s why I’m asking now.” Cas looked back at him before he sucked in a shaky breath when his eyes fell into Dean’s lips. “As you say, I saw the chance and I wanna take it.”

Cas is right. They haven’t kissed since Dean found him in the field and yeah maybe they don’t need excuses to kiss but if it makes Cas more confident to ask then who is Dean to stop him.

Dean’s eyes fell into Cas’s mouth as his tongue poked out to lick his lips before he swallowed hard.

“Take it.” Dean dropped Cas’s arm and took the few steps forward to grab Cas’s face in between his hands to press a hard stiff peck against his lips. This was still so new, his heart-stopping for just a panic-filled second, but when he pulled away to look at Cas, eyes closed with such a content expression Dean felt like he was brought back to life. Again.

His smile was small and it so soft that it made Dean’s heart race for just realizing, no he knew this a long time ago but now he’s really admitting it to himself, how beautiful Cas was.

Cas fluttered his baby blues at him before he gripped Dean’s arm. “I wish I asked for these a long time ago.”

Dean chuckled. “Idiot.”

“Can I have another?”

Cas reached forward to brush their noses together before Dean relaxed into the next kiss. Properly kissing him without the panic and desperation that kept getting in their way. Dean slid one arm around Cas’s waist to pull him close while the other rested at the base of his neck to keep him close. This kiss was slower, sweeter, as they found their rhythm and Dean tries to remember a time when he thought he couldn’t have this. How stupid he was for not asking. For not saying it out loud.

A chill ran up Dean’s back when he finally pulled away and Cas’s heavy breath tickled his lips.

“That one was my favorite.” Cas grinned as he looked back at Dean, his thumb gently reaching to brush on Dean’s bottom lip. “I’m still not sure if you’re real but I am very happy right now.”

Dean kissed Cas’s thumb without overthinking about it. “Yeah. Yeah, me too.”

They both chuckled before finally pulling away when Sam called out for Cas.

When Dean finally arrived at Eileen’s she asked if he was sick because he was looking flushed. Dean ended up telling her what happened, mostly because she actually looked concerned for him, and her response was, “How was it? He looks like he’ll be one hell of a kisser.”

He really liked her.
