Yesterday my tour-de-American-South ended in my hometown on the west coast. The first photo is me, the second is Manuel who made a great photo of me (but was bashful when it came to his turn), and then there's my parents, probably just smiling because i made it alive. I'm surprised too. I want to thank the 40+ people and their families who opened their homes and lives to me over the past four months. It was an experience i'll never forget. Literally, incredible experience. As in, realistically unreasonable, not credible or believable. Good thing I made photos and took notes for evidence. The first (but certainly not the last) real adventure of my life. To those who have reached out through this platform or have followed the journey through IG stories and all other sources of communication, the encouragement was much needed and much appreciated. Hopefully this pushes others to interact with the world in a novel way, like i was pushed by those before me. Uh, i feel like this is the part of the monologue where i impart some sage lesson i learned via a tidy one-liner that wraps up the lessons learned from the whole experience, but i got nothin. Sorry. Uhh - Ride bikes more! Ask for help when you need it! Butt into the lives of others! Learn to fix your own shit! Feel the sunshine and the rain! Push yourself into the unknown! Ahh!! Haha. the eastern sierra is really ugly at all times of the year. especially right now - the changing of the seasons. you should avoid it at all costs. the color palette is appalling, every photographer will say. thats why John Muir spent all that time wandering and wrote all those books about it, warning people to stay away. And Ansel Adams made all those iconic images, showing people a century ago of the horror. youve been warned. #californiasucks #ihatethisstate #🙈

Sunrises and Snowstorms

Some notables: a month has come and gone since I moved to New York. In that time, I’ve acquired one job, one internship, one apartment (with one rooftop, pictured), one wetsuit (and soon to be a few surfboards). There have been two snow days and two days above 65 degrees which makes for one confused Ethan. I have met many people in my month here, all seemingly serendipitously. It’s really because I have interests and pursue those interests (literally the small things like reading and drinking tea and photographing). I suppose this is to say - determine the things you like to do, and do them. And if you’re like me, you’ll meet wanderers and wonderers alike. And that’s how friends are made, folks.

Here is a photographic depiction of the amazing day I had as a result of Delta’s technical system errors that cancelled 1,000 of 6,000 flights on Monday, the airline said to the New York Times.
