My most recent piece, dedicated to my babe Bastet.
She rules both the sun and moon, depending on her needs. Her element is fire, we have poppies, cat mint, tigers eye and bloodstone as tribute.
This is done with Prismacolor Markers (and a little gold leaf on the tigers eye) and that new Yupo Paper. I was hesitant to buy it, and then my Water Based Media teacher Jen Peterson brought it in to try! This Yupo Paper is white, like an ultra vellum. Plasticy and translucent. I'm definitely digging the way it layers, I think it makes the generally unforgiving marker medium much easier to work with, the newest strokes on the page will blur out anything there first, and there's some blending but you can remove black nearly entirely with a lighter color. Definitely best used in layers. In this piece I had lined with black, colored in the lines carefully and then darkened the black where needed. Overall very fun to play with, I may invest in it later.
