Without her power, she was practically like all the other useless people out there, and with her being high on their kill list, she decided going out there would be certain death. Regina needed her book, the one that was in the Imp’s shop (of course he would be the one to have it) and maybe, just maybe, if she sneaked out quickly enough, she wouldn’t be seen— and she would be able to search the store without notice. That, so far, was the plan and she was going to stick to it. Poking her head out the door, she slid between her door and the frame, locking it quickly before heading to her car; it was only then she noticed a figure coming up her walkway. “Ah,” she merely sneered, “—Elphaba. Come to cart me away to the awaiting mob?”

Remembering was the worst part. It was dizzying, watching your life before you, like a movie. Then came the loneliness. The other residents, at least, had family members, friends. She had no one. She had gone to the Forest by herself, alone. Just her and a pair of silver shoes.
