Counterpoint:
Uncrossing With A Directional/Crossroads Cord-Cutting
Note to Reader: This post is alignment with my "Clear Your Path to Spring Success with Path Clearing Magick". This working can also be done in alignment with a Path-Clearing or Road Opener.
In life's journey, we often form connections with many individuals or situations, some of which may no longer serve our highest good. These attachments or cords, at times, can become detrimental, carrying negative energies, crossed conditions, or even manifesting tulpas that can wield influence over our thoughts and perceptions. To address these issues, the practice of a Crossroads or Directional Cord Cutting/Uncrossing can be immensely beneficial.
The primary goal of this working is to sever all emotional, energetic, and spiritual ties that no longer serve us, including those we might not consciously recognize or know which direction they are coming from. It's important to emphasize that cord-cutting is not a tool for trivial matters, petty disputes, or seeking revenge. Engaging in this practice during moments of anger or emotional turmoil is not advised; instead, it is recommended to undertake this working from a place of clarity. However, I am not your witch mama lol and as a firm believer in free will, follow your intuition and act accordingly.
By actively releasing these attachments or cords, individuals can liberate themselves from the past and facilitate their own personal growth. As you undergo this process, you may experience a profound sense of detachment from situations or individuals that once held significant influence over your emotions. This newfound liberation can pave the way for a fresh perspective and a renewed sense of emotional, energetic, and spiritual freedom.
In essence, cord-cutting serves as a transformative working that encourages both parties to move forward in their respective journeys. As you embark on this spiritual practice, you may find yourself unburdened by the weight of past attachments and cords and find yourself more aligned with your true path. Embracing the power of cord-cutting can be a profound step towards healing, growth, and reclaiming your yourself and power.
Crossroads/Directional Cord-Cutting & Uncrossing:
Items Needed:
1 black figure candle to represent yourself. Also, a plain black candle will work too if you can't get your hands on a figure one.
4 white candles for the Crossroads & Directions
4 pieces of white cord
4 white pieces of paper with your name and date of birth on them
Frankincense and Myrrh incense for consecration
Uncrossing or Banishing Oil
Crossroads dirt (optional) you can also draw the crossroads
Aluminum pan (optional) I love these to burn in. Makes clean-up a breeze.
Candle Dots Adhesive (optional) you can always melt the end of the candles to your surface. However, these $5 treasures make attaching candles to any surface effortless!
Some hair cuttings (optional) I like using hair as a taglock
Directions:
Begin by burning the Frankincense & Myrrh incense. Use the smoke to cleanse and consecrate your candles, cords, paper, and pan.
Next, write or carve the directions on each white candle and for the black candle write or carve your name and date of birth. Or you can taglock it with some hair in a later step when you apply the Uncrossing Oil.
Now prepare your pan with the crossroads dirt or draw (+) a cross to represent the crossroads inside the pan.
Setup spell work like the picture above. Place a piece of paper with your name and date of birth under each white candle… also place the paper and candles in the correct directions… you might need to use a compass app to find the correct directions of the crossroads for you. It may be tricky tying the cords on the candles...this is where the candle dots help out by reducing the movement of the candles coming undone from the pan.
Put some Uncrossing oil on the white candles only. Work in opposites. North to South, East to West.
Ground and call in spirit guides, ascended ancestors, or any patrons or saints you may work with for your highest well-being and potential. You may want to offer some incense and a glass of water as offering while performing the spell.
Now it's time to open the crossroads by placing your hands over your working and say:
At the crossroads, I stand so bold, Where energy flows, boundless and untold. Paths diverge, choices to be made, Energetic roads, my power to aid.
I open the gates, direct the flow, Guiding the energy, high and low. At the center, I lay, in control and sway, Shaping the future, with each word I say.
Energetic pathways intertwine and bind, From the center, I stand, a force of a kind. Empowered and focused, in this sacred space, I shape destinies with my will and grace.
I command the crossroads to open wide, Reveal the path where destinies collide. Unveil the choices, the options to choose, Let me chart my course, win or lose.
Crossroads, part ways, reveal the unknown, Guide me through the journey I must own. Grant me the wisdom to make my decree, As I command the crossroads, open your gates and set my spirit free.
Put some Uncrossing oil and this would be the time to add some of your hair on the figure candle and say:
Here I stand surrounded by cords, shackles, and chains, workings and bindings against me for other’s desires and gains.
Protection comes to me this day and any unserving cords and crossed conditions will no longer have sway. By this uncrossing and cord-cutting, all unserving energy is sent away, back to the sender from which it came.
• Now call in the fate of the crossroads of the spirit gate and light the figure candle:
As I call to the fates of The Crossroads, I call to my highest self. Gateway of Spirit and Soul. I call you forth and invoke your ancient force. Crush and remove all malevolent entities, all unserving cords & attachments, and all curses & crosses placed upon me. Break & dissolve. Bless and set free. As it is now, so it is & so shall it be!
To be set free I will now call to the powers that be, from every fate of the crossroads to release all cords, crossings, and energy that isn’t serving me.
Now it is time to get ready to call in the fates of the crossroads of each direction and light the candles for each direction. Say the direction first and then light its corresponding candle right after. Remember to work in opposites.
North: As I call to the fates of The Crossroads, I call to the Winds beyond the North gate. Gateway of Air and Father Sky. I call you forth and invoke your ancient force. Crush and remove all malevolent entities, all unserving cords & attachments, and all curses & crosses placed upon me. Break & dissolve. Bless and set free. As it is now, so it is & so shall it be!
South: As I call to the fates of The Crossroads, I call to the fields beyond the south gate. Gateway of Earth and Mother. I call you forth and invoke your ancient force. Crush and remove all malevolent entities, all unserving cords & attachments, and all curses & crosses placed upon me. Break & dissolve. Bless and set free. As it is now, so it is & so shall it be!
East: As I call to the fates of The Crossroads, I call to the flames beyond the East gate. Gateway of fire and rising sun. I call you forth and invoke your ancient force. Crush and remove all malevolent entities, all unserving cords & attachments, and all curses & crosses placed upon me. Break & dissolve. Bless and set free. As it is now, so it is & so shall it be!
West: As I call to the fates of The Crossroads, I call to the bodies of water beyond the west gate. Gateway of Water and Grandmother Moon. I call you forth and invoke your ancient force. Crush and remove all malevolent entities, all unserving cords & attachments, and all curses & crosses placed upon me. Break & dissolve. Bless and set free. As it is now, so it is & so shall it be!
Let all candles burn completely and when they are finished say:
Consumed by the great and victorious fates of the Crossroads I have been set free.
Release Spirit:
Spirit guides, ascended ancestors, fates of the crossroads,(Patrons & Saints), and highest self… I release you to return to the infinite with my utmost gratitude and appreciation for watching over and assisting me. As above, so below. As within, so without. As the universe, so the soul.
Lastly, release the crossroads:
I command the crossroads to close now, No more paths to wander, no more to allow.
No more hesitations, no more second-guess, I command the crossroads to close, no more to access.
Dispose of the remains how you choose.

"The Forest"
An illustration I painted and turned into an animated gif. This was very tedious but I like how it turned out.
What Is An Egregore?
An egregore is a collective thought-form or psychic entity created by the shared beliefs, emotions, and intentions of a group of people. It exists on the astral plane and is sustained by the energy it receives from those who acknowledge or interact with it. Egregores can range from simple constructs, like a shared group mindset, to powerful spiritual forces that take on a life of their own.
As they become more autonomous, egregores may begin to influence even more individuals, leading them to act in ways they might not otherwise choose. They can also become malevolent, manipulating their creators or growing uncontrollable if their energy is not properly managed or if the group’s intentions shift. The longer an egregore exists, the harder it becomes to control, and it may exert a disproportionate influence over those who have fed it, making it a potentially dangerous force in occult practices.
Origins and Function
The concept of egregores dates back to ancient mystical and occult traditions, particularly in Western esotericism, Kabbalah, and ceremonial magick. The term comes from the Greek word egregoroi, meaning “watchers” or “guardians.” In modern occultism, an egregore is often likened to a psychic servitor, but instead of being created by a single person, it is formed and strengthened by collective consciousness.
Types of Egregores
• Religious & Spiritual Egregores – Gods or angels that have been empowered by centuries of belief and worship of organized religion.
• Cultural & Societal Egregores – Nations, political movements, or even corporations that develop their own energy and influence.
• Magical & Esoteric Egregores – Thought-forms created intentionally by occult groups for protection, knowledge, or power.
• Pop Culture Egregores – Fictional characters or mythologies that gain psychic influence due to mass belief and emotional investment.
How Egregores Are Sustained
An egregore requires attention, emotion, and ritual to survive. The more people interact with and reinforce its presence—through belief, symbols, rituals, or storytelling—the stronger it becomes. Some egregores can gain autonomy, influencing the thoughts and actions of those connected to them.
Working With or Disrupting Egregores
• Creating an Egregore: Occultists and magical groups sometimes create egregores for protection, guidance, or manifestation. These are carefully built through ritual, intention, and structured feeding of energy.
• Dissolving an Egregore: If an egregore becomes negative or harmful, it can be weakened through neglect, conscious dismantling, or banishing rituals.
• Recognizing Their Influence: Many egregores subtly shape reality through collective belief. Understanding their power can help one navigate group dynamics, avoid manipulation, or harness them for magical purposes.
Egregores exist everywhere, from spiritual traditions to modern fandoms, corporations, and ideologies. Whether viewed as independent entities or as psychological constructs, their impact on the world is undeniable, especially within witchcraft and occult circles. Learning how to recognize egregores for what they are allows a practitioner to circumvent unwanted influences and protect their energy.
Understanding The Left-Hand Path
The Left-Hand Path (LHP) in witchcraft and the broader occult tradition refers to a set of spiritual practices, philosophies, and paths that emphasize personal empowerment, self-deification, and the pursuit of individual freedom. The Left-Hand Path is often contrasted with the Right-Hand Path (RHP), which typically focuses on spiritual alignment with external moral or divine laws. Here are some key aspects of the Left-Hand Path in witchcraft:
• Self-empowerment: LHP practitioners typically focus on achieving personal power and mastery, often rejecting traditional religious or societal constraints. This includes embracing one's own desires, will, and inner strength.
• Individualism and Autonomy: The LHP emphasizes personal autonomy, with practitioners believing that they are their own authority and can shape their fate through willpower and self-determination.
• Rejection of Traditional Morality: LHP practitioners may reject conventional moral standards, particularly those imposed by mainstream religions like Christianity. They believe in creating their own ethical framework based on personal growth and enlightenment rather than obedience to external laws.
• Occult Knowledge and Rituals: The Left-Hand Path often involves the use of occult rituals, symbols, and magick to tap into unseen forces or realms. These practices might include working with deities or spirits that are considered "dark" or "unconventional" within mainstream religious contexts.
• Deification and Transcendence: A central aspect of the Left-Hand Path is the idea of self-deification—becoming one’s own god or embracing the divine within. This process often involves transcending the limitations of the material world and the ego.
• Exploration of Taboo or Forbidden Knowledge: LHP practitioners are often drawn to exploring areas considered taboo or forbidden by mainstream religions, such as the study of death, the afterlife, or working with spirits traditionally seen as "evil" or "chaotic."
• Darkness and Shadow Work: The LHP is sometimes associated with the "dark" side of spirituality, including shadow work, which involves confronting one's hidden, suppressed, or negative aspects to achieve greater self-awareness and healing.
While the Left-Hand Path is often misunderstood as "evil," it is more about personal transformation and embracing one's true self, free from societal or religious conditioning. Some well-known figures associated with the Left-Hand Path include Aleister Crowley, Michael W. Ford, and other occultists who focus on self-development and magickal practices.
It’s important to note that the Left-Hand Path can vary significantly in its specific practices and beliefs depending on the individual or tradition. Some practitioners might lean more toward spiritual enlightenment, while others focus on power dynamics and mastery over external forces.

Things to put in your book of shadows
Of course, only put in your book of shadows/grimoire what you want. If you don't want to put certain subjects in your book then that's fine. It's your book, utilize it how you want. This is just a masterlist of ideas that I've put together. Feel free to add anything else to the list that I may have missed, because there's absolutely no way I included everything.
And for the love of all the gods, if you come across a closed entity or practice, don't try to work with the entity or practice if you're not already part of that group or tradition. You can research it but don't practice it.

Witchcraft | Dirt
There are tons of different dirt, from different places, that can all hold different energies and properties. Firstly, a lot of these are my own personal correspondences. So, if something doesn't resonate with you, don't worry just try to figure out what does. Hopefully this list will at least give you an idea of where to start or maybe help you think outside the box when it comes to this specific popular tool in witchcraft.
Graveyard or Cemetery Dirt
I feel as if this is probably one of the most popular dirt, that a lot of witches have experience using. This dirt is great for lots of different work like ancestral, spirit, protection, healing, and lucky are some of the most popular uses for this dirt. Some witches believe that graveyard dirt is only useful if it's collected from an actual grave. Personally, I believe any dirt collected from a graveyard (whether it be an actual grave or just somewhere on the property) can be just as powerful. If you're doing ancestral work, it's obviously suggested that you get dirt directly from an ancestor's grave. And it's advised that you don't take dirt from the grave of someone you don't know. And don't forget to always leave an offering, even if you don't take from any specific grave (and just take it from the property) still be sure to leave an offering for the spirits that rest there.
Here's another post I made about graveyard dirt alternatives
Church or Holy Dirt
I don't see this one talked about as often as other dirt, but I think church dirt can be a very powerful tool in spells and rituals related to cleansing, healing and protection. Depending on the type of church the dirt is collected from it can also be used for other purposes too. For example, I consider catholic church dirt to be most useful in workings related to keeping secrets or helping me undercover secrets. Church dirt is powerful because the grounds are believed to be "holy ground." Also, depending on how long the church has been there, the amount of energy that has built up over the years can contribute too. Of course, I would suggest doing your research on whatever church you're thinking about getting dirt from. Just because something is considered "holy" and old, doesn't mean it's good. Plenty of churches hold bad and dark energy too. So be mindful.
An alternative for church dirt could be altar or sacred space dirt. If you practice a lot outside, in a specific spot, the ground beneath you holds that energy too. In my opinion, I'd consider that to be holy or sacred energy.
Crossroads Dirt
A crossroads is an intersection of two or more roads. I kind of bend this definition just a little bit because finding a dirt road isn't always easy. Finding a dirt path however, those are easier to come by. So, I consider cross paths to hold similar energy and properties. This dirt is great for spells and rituals related to travel (specifically astral or spiritual traveling), decision making, and manifesting opportunities. There are a ton of interesting lore around crossroads too. Most popularly known (in western cultures) as a place to summon the devil or demons that one can make a deal with for riches, fame, health etc.
Forest or Woods Dirt
Commonly a place someone might go to escape, and sometimes even get lost, forest dirt (or dirt from the woods, or a heavily wooded area) would be great for spells and rituals associated with lost things, adventurous travel, and astral work.
Dirt From Your Home
This dirt is best used in spells or rituals that directly involve or affect your physical home. Protection and banishing mostly. It's a great way to represent your home and it's energy in spells and rituals too. If you live in an apartment home, or you live in a city, you can use your own house plant's dirt as an alternative. If you're planning on traveling, you can carry a little dirt from your home as a "return home safely" charm as well.
Garden Dirt
Surprisingly this dirt can be one of the hardest to get your hands on because not everyone just has a garden, they can scoop some dirt from. Also, most gardens usually are on private property. But if you can sneak a little bit of dirt from a park garden or community garden, without ruining anything or disturbing any of the plants in the garden, I say go for it. Garden dirt is great for manifesting, growing, fertility, and abundance. Be sure to leave an offering though.
I also consider indoor herb gardens to be garden dirt too, and I believe they hold the same energy. Or even if you just have a small balcony garden at your apartment or townhome, that counts too.
Bank Dirt
Hear me out, this dirt holds lots of energy related to money, luck, and finances. This dirt is powerful in spells related to these things too. A little bank dirt in a spells jar for financial stability is very powerful.
Railroad Dirt
This dirt is perfect for spells and rituals related to traveling, exploration, and new adventures.
Park Dirt
Perfect in spells and rituals associated with community and bounding. Local parks are known for being places that people can spend time together, go to community events, and build new friendships.
Courthouse, Jail, and Prison Dirt
This dirt is great for spells and rituals related to justices and protection. It could also be used in hexes for the same reasons.
Playground Dirt
Associated with innocence and wonder, this dirt would work great in workings related to childhood or your inner child work.
Hospital Dirt
Obviously, this dirt can be powerful in spells related to healing and health. Be really mindful of the type of hospital this dirt is from. The energy at a mental health facility is going to be different than at an ER or a maternity hospital. This could theoretically be used in cursing and hexing too. So keep that in mind as well.
School or Library Dirt
Great for spells and rituals associated with education and learning in general.
Why dirt though?
Dirt is most commonly used to represent the element Earth in witchcraft and magical practices. It's not only believed that dirt holds energy related to the earth element, but that dirt itself can absorb and hold onto the energy around it. It helps plants grow, which is why a lot of witches believe burying manifestation spells will help our spells work better and faster; it'll help our manifestation grow.
Since dirt is believed to absorb and hold onto energy, it makes since that dirt in specific locations would correspond with specific energies. If hundreds and thousands of people have used a specific location for one similar purpose those grounds would be overflowing with that energy. Bank = Money. Courthouse = Justice. Graveyard = Death or Spirits. Crossroads = Travel. Church = Sacred.
How do I collect dirt?
Be very mindful of where you're taking dirt from. Don't go digging through some random person's yard or garden for dirt lol. Don't forget to leave an offering, when necessary, too. I try to be as discreet as possible when I'm collecting dirt from a more crowded public place like a courthouse or bank. Other times it's a little easier to collect dirt without many weird stares, like in the woods, at an empty church, a graveyard, old railroad tracks etc. Make sure you have something to store your dirt in (a small jar or pouch) and be sure to properly label it when you get a chance.
So how do I use it?
There are so many different ways to actually incorporate dirt into your spells and rituals, that there is no possible way I would be able to list them all in one post. But get creative with it and don't be afraid to get your hands dirty. It's not just an ingredient for a spell jar!
I'll try my best to share different ways I've used dirt in my practice in a future post, that way I can hopefully give you some ideas on what you could do in your practice.

Witchy Self-Care
*pulls out draft from over a year ago* ENJOY
Hi! this is a list of witchy self-care things you can do. Most of these are pretty basic on account that i wrote this ages ago but they definitely still work. Anyways, I hope these help :)
Do the dishes and dedicate it to your house spirit (if you have one) or a deity (if you're religious)
sweep/mop your floor in the shape of sigils
add rosemary (or rosemary water/essential oils) to the water you mop with to set an intention of cleansing
taking ritual a bath/shower
cleansing your energy. it's so basic but I forget more than i'd like to admit
dedicating time to yourself. it's just as important as dedicating time to your deities/other spirits
light shadow work or going to therapy. bettering your mental health also betters your spiritual.
go outside and ground yourself
take a nap (less witchy, more, I love naps. rest is important)
work out/stretch and dedicate it to an entity
do some gratitude
take 5 minutes to just sit and turn off your devices. you can use this time for anything, just take a second to get off screens and connect with the world around you
meditate. if you can't sit still long enough to meditate, just focus on taking 3 deep breathes
when you wash your face, draw sigils on your face with the cleanser and moisturiser
^do the same as above but with your body wash and when you wash your hair
say some affirmations/manifestations while brushing your teeth
just check in with yourself and see how you're feeling spiritually, psychically and emotionally. sometimes we don't actually know how we're feeling until we sit down and actually ask ourselves.
If anyone has any more to add please comment. I'll add them to the list (with credit of course)
