Ryan being so invisible when he's not actively bashing someone's head in is actually so important to me as a fellow giant ginger who feels like a ghost sometimes. When people can't make use of you so you just kind of fade into the walls because noone sees you as a person, it gets easy to not treat yourself like a person either. The anxiety gets worse when people *do* finally see you as a person because it's like oh, fuck, I forgot how to do this? im not a person, im just pretending to be one. theyre going to find out im not real. its a horrible horrible feeling and I wouldn't wish it on anyone but Ryan is the character whos come closest to it in everything ive ever read/watched

I think Vaughn also has secret lesbian moms that he just never mentions until like years after everything. Like Scott and Kip are planning their wedding and hes like "oh my moms knew the guy who officiated their wedding from college and i think he's still in the area, maybe he could help you too!" and Scott chokes on his drink and stares off into the middle distance for too long and Kip who is shocked but has an unmatched gaydar and knew there was some queerness somewhere in Vaughns life manages a "that's be great Carter" as he puts a hand on Scotts arm to return him to reality
