You get sleep paralysis very often. Although this seems horrible to most, you don’t mind it, in fact you welcome it. And that’s because your sleep paralysis demon is actually very nice and sweet.

His name is Connie. He hates it when people claim it’s a girl name.

I remember my first night with Connie - he cried when I shrieked in terror at the sight of him. I’ve only ever seen his face and hands as he creeps from my headboard several nights a week. His fingers are long and sharp. Large eyes and a wide mouth landscape of his face. His crying confused me and I question what the hell just happened. He replied, “You’re scared of me and that makes me sad. Every person I meet is always so scared of me.” I couldn’t hold in my laugh, ”Well then, maybe you should be the one scared of me.”

Some nights he wakes me up just to talk about his fantasies of being human while I argue that it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. I asked him one night if he ever thinks he could become human and with the darkest eyes I’ve ever seen on him he says, “I’d just have to take a body...not yours though,” with a smirk.

Goosebumps fill my arms as this is only the second time I’ve ever feared Connie. But I remind myself that this is the same friend that has woken me up from bad dreams to make me laugh and comforted me when I’ve cried. He wouldn’t hurt me, right? I’ve been out of town for the past few days and Connie hasn’t appeared. I think it’s safe to say that he lives within the four walls of my bedroom. That last conversation has been replaying in my mind. I want advice but who the hell else has a sleep paralysis demon bestie? Yes, I’ve already check reddit, and believe it or not, there’s no one there with the same dilemma either.
