Okay good question, When did I start "actually" getting into it? , I hope you aren't looking for a short answer bc I'm gonna yap again

I think after seeing that one g1 ep I was like oh okay that's totally a normal way to take down your enemy , It was very funny that I closed my eyes halflway watching it from second hand embarrassment, mind you I was never into shipping that much before , I was never a shipper lol , But I did want to see art of them so badly but there was literally none on twt (bc my main is twt) so I checked tumblr and found @awpollar 's art of them under the name skyrage , btw skyrage is another name of the ship and I'm close friends with this cool artist now!

Then I opened ao3 for the first time in my life , Again I never was into shipping but man I wanted more content of them so I can get going and found a long fic face the past by @altraviolet , this fic changed it all for me bc like it literally had everything I needed to see about them , Violet wrote them so very GOOD , It took me time to finish it bc eng not my first language lol but it was super fun anyway that I read it again like TOO MANY times by now , It's so good and I'm grateful I found it <3

and then I started commissioning art of them bc I didn't know how to draw them at first but now I can and still practicing!!

Hi! , This makes me happy finally I got this ask bc I won't shut up now (also yes you can eat my art thank you) :

1-I mostly ship them because of their abilities and how strong they can be connected and how it became a rivalry thing , both of them think he's the best at sneaking , always stumble into each other in battle bc starscream keeps ordering skywarp around to always finish the autobot spy because he's the only mech who can actually "feel" where he is , and that's because his outlier energy is very close to mirage's

2- Skywarp is a battle lover , mirage isn't, that's why skywarp likes to annoy him mostly because even though mirage doesn't like fighting ,when he does he's very fast and smart and good at it which is something skywarp really wants to see (This was from a line cliffjumper said in that one g1 ep "for a guy who doesn't like to fight you sure aren't bad yourself mirage" btw I'm not sure if this is the exact wording lol I watched it long time ago)

3- Skywarp would try his best to make mirage defect everytime they meet but it never works and he never understood why despite knowing mirage's reputation amongst the autobots and his true feelings about the cause , Mirage still an autobot and he cares about his friends

4- Skywarp is a yapper and mirage isn't , sometimes skywarp would take mirage out of the battle and start venting about his problems with starscream , and mirage can't help but just listen
